Happy Birthday
I am enjoying the recently re-released MFT Lily Die-Namics. They are such fun to shade with inks and to arrange, and the current MFT sketch created a perfect focal point for them.
Hey There --Thinking of You!
The current Ink to Paper challenge is to create a thinking of you card. I used Floral Sketches stamped in Harvest Gold, Lilac Grace, Hibiscus Burst, and Aqua Mist. The horizontal arrangement of the flowers happened accidentally as I was experimenting, but I like it.

Be Strong and Take Heart all who Hope in the Lord
So glad the Double D Challenge inspired me to pull out this fun die from YNS. It is called The Mini Sunburst die, and cuts neatly stitched triangles perfect for gluing into a sunburst shape. The set also includes a heart, a star, and a flower shape that can be cut from the sunburst panel. I used some small scraps from a sweet floral stack from Hobby Lobby and layered the heart over a panel cut with an Altenew piercing die. The dear scripture is from my Verve stash.

Some People Make the World Special Just by Being in It
This week's Mojo Sketch is the kind that scares me---there are panels that have to be aligned both vertically and horizontally. I have learned that liquid glue with some "hydroplaning" qualities, as Cathy Zielske refers to the "scoot time" before the glue dries is really helpful. I used scraps from a very pretty MME stack in soft florals. There is not a lot of contrast in the papers, and I like the soft look. The sentiment is from my Verve stash, and I love it. I remember a color sheet that I colored for my grandmother when I was little. I thought the sentiment had been written just for her, and she kept it forever---a sweet memory.

Easter Wishes
It was fun to plan a card for Double D's Anything with a Heart Challenge. After ink blending a a quarter-sheet of card stock, I used a favorite cover plate die from Papertrey Ink, layered on a stitched PTI heart, and created an arrangement using the recently re-released lily dies from MFT. Die cutting the cover plate left plenty of pastel hearts in all sizes, so I used two to cover the hole in the vellum tag layer and sprinkled a few in the corner. I love it when the dies leave pretty extras like this one did!
So thankful for a sunny Sunday and for the opportunity to return to school tomorrow!

He has made all things Beautiful--TS Awareness
This card was made by ink blending over heat embossed butterflies from a favorite Verve set. After completing the ink blending, I stamped a few tiny butterflies in shades of yellow and splashed a few water droplets over the dye ink. Over the subtle background are three stacked Memory Box butterflies for a little dimension. The pretty scalloped rectangle is from Newton's Nook Flags and Frames.
The scripture from Ecclesiastes was also included in the Verve stamp set and is perfect to honor God and the sweet girls with Turner Syndrome. Turner Syndrome is a rare condition that affects 1 in 2,500 females, with only a small percentage of them surviving. The talented gymnast Missy Marlowe is has Turner Syndrome, and there are some facts about her here.
Thanks for stopping by and take care,
Christine

Happy Easter with Newton's Nook
This is my newest Newton's Nook image---the current Inky Paws Challenge is to watercolor. I adore this image, but it was a bit of a challenge for my watercoloring skills. There are definitely some spots that could use improvement! Like anything else, my watercoloring skills will improve with practice.

Keep Shining--Turner Syndrome Awareness
We are not supposed to have winter like this in our part of Texas! It is cold, but the roads have thawed, and we have power and water. The school where I teach is not faring as well, so I have the blessing of an unexpected craft day.
I often appreciate the guidance of a sketch, and this week's MFT sketch fit the bill for a card featuring MFT's Pressed flowers, and a pretty leafy flourish (also from MFT) layered over a delicate heart die I picked up from Tuesday Morning. I stamped the center of each flower and ink blended to bring a soft look to all the die cuts.
I would also like to share this card with the Turner Syndrome Awareness blog hop. I so admire the miracle girls with TS and the way they shine through the struggles this condition often brings. After enduring the anxiety of the pandemic, it is heart-breaking to realize that Turner Syndrome sometimes predisposes these sweet girls to anxiety. My prayers go out for these young ladies and their families.
Hope you will take a moment to learn about Turner Syndrome.

Awesome Just the Way You Are---Turner Syndrome Awareness
February is Turner Syndrome Awareness month. I first heard of TS through Lori Kolubar's blog hop a couple of years ago. Turner Syndrome causes girls to be born missing their second X chromosome, and only 2% of babies with TS are carried to term, making them true miracles. Turner Syndrome has a host of symptoms including visual-spatial difficulties resulting in learning difficulties. As a teacher with over thirty years of experience, I was shocked to have never heard of TS prior to Lori's hop. It is sad that more research funds and efforts are not dedicated to this cause, but we can spread the word and can make donations to help.
Each of us is created by a loving God, and these precious miracle girls truly are awesome just the way they are!

Birthday Bouquet---Happy Birthday, PTI!
Many thanks to PTI for a recent gift card with which I ordered the Tag Sale Quilted die. It's an item I have had on my wish list for quite some time, but its popularity has made it hard to find in stock. It was a double blessing to have a gift card to spend on such a wish! Congrats, PTI, on your 14th anniversary. I love the spring-y feel to today's post. We are all hoping for warmer weather and brighter days!

The One my Soul Loves
Yes, it's a yellowValentine because not everyone that I love loves pink. I never met a shade of pink I didn't adore, but the beauty of card making is the opportunity to create personalized cards. With an array of freshly stamped blooms from Gran's Garden this fun heart frame, it was easy to make a non-traditionally hued Valentine.
Wishing you a safe and happy week,
Christine

Mojo Monday with Gran's Garden
This card was created from scraps and extra elements, and I love when that happens! The lone bloom from Gran's Garden works nicely with a leaf cluster from Farmer's Market Florals. The circular element was actually cut from the center of a Shape Shifter's Square and provides a little texture and pattern.
I am thankful for a little time to create at the end of a busy day.
