Mojo Monday --- Birthday Bouquet

Birthday Bouquet by Ink to Paper provided the florals for this card.  They were stamped on watercolor paper and spritzed for a soft look.  The same shades of pink, purple and green were blended on the circle.  I liked the look, but couldn't find just the right patterned papers for the horizontal and vertical strips, opting for score lines and plenty of white space on the card panel.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend,
Christine

Softly Shaded Sunflowers

This is my second card using the Inky Paws inspiration palette, but this time, I turned the volume down on the colors and used their pastel counterparts.  Sunflower Days is my newest NND set; after heat embossing in white, I colored the flowers with ink and a water brush...soft and easy.  The background was also heat embossed in white, and I sponged on pink and yellow inks, letting them blend as they would.  This was such a fun card to create!

Congrats with SSS More Spring Flowers

Our Christmas cards are finished, and I have a nice stash of birthday and thank-you cards on hand.  What next?  Two family members will graduate in 2021, so I have started on graduation cards.  This one features More Spring Flowers from SSS.   Cathy  Zielske just created a video featuring this set.  Following her lead, I sponged ink over the heat embossed images, using pastel versions of the grad's school colors.    This simple technique brings such lovely results!  Thanks for the inspiration, Cathy!

Have a fabulous day,
Christine

MFT Sketch--Happy Birthday

I need a birthday card for a friend, and the clean MFT sketch was just perfect for getting my creativity going.  The image from Adorable Elephants was watercolored with Arteza markers and layered over an ink blended background.  The sentiment strip and balloon are mounted with foam tape for a little dimension on this simple card.

Sunday Stamps Sketch- Very Merry Christmas

The Sunday Stamps Sketch offers plenty of opportunity for layering pretty papers and is a definite keeper!  I purchased this stack of Christmas papers from Hobby Lobby recently and had fun choosing patterns to layer, changing the top rectangle to an oval to let a bit more of the floral show.  Love this sketch.

MFT Birthday Project

This month's MFT Birthday Project challenge is to create a birthday card that holds a gift card---perfect for recognizing a special day when it's necessary to socially distance.  After creating a card base using some pretty black, white, and floral prints, I added a scalloped gift card tag and embellished it with MFT's Pressed Flowers in colors that coordinate with the papers.

Christine

MFT Sketch: Hello

I am playing along with the MFT Sketch Challenge using their adorable set called Hogs and Kisses.  The images and sentiments are so cute!  The sky was created using a blending brush and cloud template and all the other images were colored with pencils.

Color challenge and a fun fold

I made this card for the current MFT color challenge and adjusted the folds to accommodate the size of the scraps I had on hand.  The card base is standard:  5.5 x 8.5 with a score line at 4.25.  The additional score line could be 1.25, but I made sure my pink scrap would fit before scoring.  Not sure what the fold is called, but it's a simple way to get a bit of a new look.  The coffee cup and stitched flowers are MFT dies.

Christmas in "Cupcake and Limeade"

Sharing the last of the Christmas cards.  I really enjoyed using Sunny Studios Poinsettia dies and these papers from Doodlebug.  The colors are cupcake and limeade, and each sheet of heavy card stock has two patterns:  linen on one side and gingham on the other.  I would love to have this in more colors!

It feels good to have these finished and to think about different kinds of projects.
Thanks for stopping by and happy Friday!

Let Every Heart Prepare Him Room

This year's Christmas cards feature poinsettia dies by Sunny Studios.  There are several different layouts featuring various patterned papers  that coordinate with the red and green used for the blooms.  Today, I used the larger scraps to create five cards using the scalloped edger die from Reverse Confetti and Papertrey Ink's stitched heart.  The sweet sentiment is from my Verve stash.

Sunflowers--Thanks a Bunch

I was recently blessed with a Newton's Nook gift code by playing along at the PIP Challenge Blog.
These pretty sunflowers were my choice, and I decided to spend part of the rainy afternoon inking them up.  After blending the warm hues included in the Inky Paws color inspiration photo, I splattered the panel with both water and some white paint.  The sunflowers were watercolored with various die inks and a water brush. A sprinkling of sequins and a sentiment from another NN set finished off the card.

I am so thankful for the wonderful stamps provided by Newton's Nook via the PIP challenge!

Stay safe,
Christine

Plaid, Polka Dots, and Poinsettias

After mass-producing poinsettias using Sunny Studio's Poinsettia die, it's been so much fun to create various cards using the papers, dies, and ribbons already in my stash.  I ordered the floral dies, but everything else came from the craft closet.  I am thankful to have plenty on hand, the time to craft and the fun challenge of creating with what's available.  In addition to the poinsettia die, I use a Little Inkers stitched rectangle, a Reverse Confetti tag and topper, and a pair of banners from Newton's Nook.

Praying that you are in good health and have some happy time to craft,
Christine

Another Christmas Card Layout--Christ the Savior is Born

This is the third Christmas card layout I have created using Sunny Studio's  Poinsettia dies.
The overall design became oh-so-easy using Pink Fresh Studio's Ornate Banner dies.  I love the shape of the dies and the pierced border on each layer.

Merry Christmas with Sunny Studio Poinsettias

After spending a couple of crafting sessions creating both red and pink poinsettias from Sunny Studio's Poinsettia dies, it's time to create cards.  This is the second layout for the red ones.

Christ the Savior is Born

The mail lady delivered Sunny Studio's Layered Poinsettia die and some papers yesterday afternoon, and I have been assembling poinsettias .....some pink and mint and some in more traditional red and green.  The Mojo Monday sketch created a perfect layout.  I am am using various sentiments from Verve and love how the cards are shaping up!

Sunday Stamps Color Inspiration: Hello

The bright macarons in the Sunday Stamps photo are so inspiring!  Love those colors, and I would like to try the treats someday, too.

It was fun to stamp Reverse Confetti's Rose Garden and to create a bright bouquet.

Sketch + Color Scheme = Happy Birthday

Is combining a color challenge with a sketch challenge considered a "card-making technique"?   If so, it's my favorite technique! The MFT color challenge included such beautiful shades, and I was thankful to find these MME papers in my stash.  Despite staying at home since Spring Break, I haven't yet run out of supplies, and that is such a good thing!
Thanks for stopping by and stay well,

Faithdex Card: Truth and Light

This summer I started a "Faith Dex" which adds scripture cards to Heidi Swapp's Memory Dex.  I am reading the gospel of John this month, as part of a group "John in July", and this verse stood out to me.

These products were used:  Paper Smooches jar dies, Lawn Fawn Fireflies stamps and dies, and Sweet-N-Sassy alphabet stamps.

MFT Sketch---Happy Birthday with Adorable Elephants

It was so much fun to color this little elephant with Arteza markers, place him in a photo frame with a cloudy sky, and to add cheerful papers to create a sunny birthday card.

Hope you have a bright, sunny day!

Wishing You All the Best

The current Mod Squad theme is to use silhouettes.  I don't make a lot of cards like this (not sure why) and am finding it to be lots of fun.  The sentiment and images used on this card are from a Verve set called Kind Words.  This really is "out of my crafting box", but I like the look.

Mojo Monday--- Slimline Happy Birthday

I changed my mind so many times when creating this card.....and I changed the sketch, too.  It's rotated and missing one layer, but I love the vivid  colors and happy feel this card projects.  The bright blooms are cut with MFT Stitched Flowers die, and the canning jar is a Paper Smooches product.  The fun pierced banner is a Pink Fresh Studio die, and the festive garland is part of a Reverse Confetti tag set.

Have a fabulous Monday,
Christine

Brushed Birds--Thinking of You

It's been the quietest Independence Day I can remember.....no company for a big meal or fun deliberations over which community was putting on the fireworks display we most wanted to see.  I am thankful to be safe at home and praying for a time we can celebrate with lots of family and friends again.

Holiday weekend or not, stamping on Sunday afternoon is my thing, and I enjoyed bringing the Sunday Stamps sketch to life with a circle of stenciled sky and a couple of feathered friends from PTI's Brushed birds. I stamped the background patterns in the same colors as the cloudy sky and like the cohesive look it brought to the design.  Thanks for stopping by and stay well,
Christine

Watercolor Bouqet---Hello

The theme for Melissa's Fab Friday Challenge is "Hello".  This card was created with a new favorite:  PTI Birthday Bouquet which I stamped on watercolor paper with plenty of spritzing for a soft look.  The background effect is a new favorite too.  PTI Loosely Woven background was heat embossed in white and coordinating inks were applied with blender brushes.  That panel was cut with a stitched rectangle and mounted over a layer of dotted paper.  Following Melissa's example, the sentiment is heat embossed on vellum and layered between two of the fun loopy bows included in the Birthday Bouquet die set.

Wishing everyone a happy Fourth of July,
Christine

Lavender Butterflies--Enjoy Today

I love the peaceful feeling of this card.  The beautiful Lavender Butterflies die by Memory Box  is a recent prize from the Double D Challenge.  I love the fun inspiration photos they provide and am so very appreciative of a win!
There are elements of this card that address several challenges (intentionally), and I had such fun making it!  (Dies:  Papertrey Scalloped A2 Noted )

Faithdex--Search me and know my heart

I love browsing Bible journaling pages and am in awe of how some have symbolized Bible truths with such gorgeous art.  For several reasons, I am pretty sure that wouldn't work for me personally.  When I came across Jane Bosi's Faithdex projects, I'd found something much more comfortable.  (Here are links to some of her wonderful scripture cards:  onetwo, three, four)

This is my first Faithdex card, and it looks a little lonely in the Heidi Swapp Memorydex, but I can tell this will be a meaningful way to think about and to learn God's Word.
