Sunny Day: Newton Scoots By

Newton Scoots By under a bright gingham sun cut from a Verve die (retired).  I had such fun coloring Newton and his scooter with pencils, but didn't quite leave enough room for the sentiment, so it's inside.

Sunday Stamps Sketch Week: Happy Birthday

I love the simplicity of the Sunday Stamps Sketch.  Tilted panels are such fun and create a wonderful look.  The sketch is wide open for CAS or more layers....I took the more layers route.

The background panels are remnants of 12 x 12 scrapbook paper.  The flowers were cut from a panel watercolored with Prima Pastel Dreams using orange, red, yellow, and pink. Instead of staying the simple layers included in MFT's Pressed Flowers, I simply cut the outline die from the watercolored paper and added a stamped center.  The leaves are some new favorites from Reverse Confetti's Build a Bunch, and the die is Reverse Confetti's Wreath.

Thanks, Teresa, for the wonderful sketch....I am sure to use it again!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week,
Christine

Love One Another

Hooray!  My Stamplorations order was delivered yesterday, and I am smitten by the Cutplorations Clustered Hearts Die.  Could it be inlaid with rainbow colors, I wondered?  What fun!

The sentiment is from Verve (so sadly retired) and the bookmark is a PTI die.

Celebrate Your Special Day

Oh, I am going to miss having free time to stamp when school begins soon!  It's been fun to binge craft!  I loved the MFT Sketch and brought it to life with these stamps and dies:  MFT Doily (retired), LID On the Diagonal Die, MFT Pressed Flowers, and MFT Birthday Greetings.  This time, I just die cut the flower shapes from watercolor paper painted with Prima Pastel Dream and stamped only the centers with black ink.  I like this slightly different look.

There is Always Always Something to Be Thankful For

Such a happy day with much to be thankful for!  I won a generous prize during Stamplorations's Birthday Celebration, and my order came today.  According to USPS tracking, my package food a detour of several hundred miles, so my anticipation was building.

The beautiful sentiment from the Typografia line was heat embossed with gold embossing powder and adorned with a Verve flower cut from a panel I had such fun watercoloring.  It fits Tuesday Throwdown's theme of hot colors, I think.

Looking forward to trying more new stamps and using more of the watercolor panels.

Many thanks to the folks at Stamplorations and to those who have taken time to visit,
Christine

Atlantic Hearts Sketch 274--Welcome Baby

It's such a blessing to be part of the design team for AHSC!  I love Michelle's sketches and so enjoy thinking about the next card I will need, the supplies on hand, and the images I'd like to use.

This time around, the answers were:  I need a baby card, I love the remnants of a yellow, blue, and gray stash, and I want to use Verve's Hip Hop Bunnies.

Rotated the sketch to accommodate the length of the MFT scallop die and changed the oval to a square because a ready made frame fell right out of the stack....left over from another project.  I did some fussy cutting and paper piecing to add the yellow layer to the sweet little bunny and finished off with a few dewdrops.

CAS Birthday Card

Stamplorations is sponsoring a challenge at AAA Cards.  CAS is a challenge for me, but I like to practice and hope to one day master the artistry of a clean and simple card.  The theme is rainbow, and my card includes all the hues except purple.  It was fun to arrange scraps from this fun stack and to add a shimmery heart as a nod to mythical pot of gold at rainbow's end.

Thanks so much for visiting, and have a marvelous day,
Christine

Reverse Confetti Stock your Stash--Baby Girl

I NEED some baby cards, but I don't have many stamps in that category, and none of them are from Reverse Confetti.  In my opinion, Reverse Confetti Wreath and Edger dies make such pretty cards, and I love Banners in Bloom.  All it took was searching for a sentiment that would fit the banner, and I found one!   Very happy with how the card turned out.  :)

Thanks so much for taking a peek,
Christine

Inspired By....Beach Day

I love the soothing colors in the Inspired By photo. In fact, I recently did some redecorating and told the lady at the furniture store I was searching for shades of sand and beach glass. We found warm beiges and icy blues and greens, and the room is so soothing!

The stamps included in this project are MFT's Pressed Flowers and Verve's Poppy Birthday (so sadly retired!).

Tickled Pink It's Your Birthday!

A panel of cheerful confetti printed paper set the scene for this card featuring MFT's Flamingo Die Namics and Tickled Pink Stamp Set.  There is a little Distress Oxide ink behind the flamingo, a splattering of Wink of Stella glitter pen, and the sentiment is embossed in gold.  A fun, happy card!

Squeal---It's Your Day!

The MFT Birthday Challenge theme is confetti.  I love the Hog Heaven stamp set and it contains two tiny flowers and a cupcake, and I decided to use them as the "confetti" in a tulle shaker card.  This is my first attempt at a shaker, and the elements tend to clump together.  Does anyone have a solution?

Congratulations on your graduation!

I chose to interpret the paned element on the sketch as a Stitched Mini Scalloped Square and intended adorn one corner with Pressed Flowers, but the bouquet grew. The flowers are so much fun to stamp!   The horizontal element is a scalloped die from Verve.

SSS: Use Dies or Punches---Best Wishes to the Mr. and Mrs.

Our family has many special events to celebrate in the coming year, and I decided to start cards for these special occasions before summer break comes to an end.  I just finished this card, piling on the dies.  The scalloped edge is cut from Papertrey Edgers, the little round tag was created from a MFT cross-stitched circle stack and a tiny heart from PTI, and the center panel is a Downton Abbey frame  with pretty embossed details.

AHSC 272: Celebrate your day!

Such lovely layers in this week's sketch!  I grabbed a pretty stack of papers and began to choose solids and prints for the various layers and went to work die cutting:  Reverse Confetti Edgers, PTI Heart, MFT Stitched Flowers and Mini Scalloped Rectangle.  The gorgeous sentiment is from Verve's Poppy Birthday.

Thanks for visiting.  Hope you find time to play along at AHSC!

Starry Birthday

I was blessed to win a prize from My Favorite Things,  and this sweet image was part of my order.  I had fun experimenting with the image using watercolor markers, pencils, and paper piecing.  I settled on this version which includes colored pencils and paper piecing.  Thanks, MFT, for the happy mail!

I certainly am enjoying this little window of summer that allows for crafting like crazy!  Soon, school preparations will begin, and card making time will be precious.  I am glad, though, to enter the school year with a well-stocked stash.

This card fits the MFT Sketch and Simon's challenge to use red, white, and/or blue.

I love vintage linens, and this photo is SO gorgeous!  The envelope fold on the pillow called for Reverse Confetti Edgers Dies and RC's Rose Garden made the perfect bouquet.  The beautiful greeting is from Verve.
