Happy Birthday with Seize the Birthday Inspiration

Seize the Birthday is having quite the celebration for its 200th challenge.   I love the graphic and drew inspiration from the beautiful colors as I cerated my card.  An especially dear loved one has a birthday soon, and she will find this card in her mailbox next week.  I layered Altenew's Garden Pick 3d die cuts over the pierced background, also form Altenew.  As another nod to the pretty graphic, I used the ink already on my blender brushes to add some soft shading behind the flowers.  A splash of clear confetti finishes off this paper celebration.  Many congrats to Seize the Birthday!

Have a Very Merry Christmas

I used Gran's Garden in reds and greens for my Christmas cards last year, and I think they are my favorite Christmas cards ever!   Had to tell myself not to use these pretty blooms again because everyone would remember them from last year.  When I saw that  the current Ink to Paper challenge is to create a Christmas card, I just couldn't resist using some of the pink posies I stamped a week or so ago.  Loosely Woven and the A2 Noted Die make a simple background.

Thanks for taking a look,

Christine

Hugs and Smiles

Being home to play along with the Mojo Monday sketch is a double blessing.  We have a weather day excusing us from school due to Tropical Storm Beta. Thankfully, it is what we refer to along the Gulf Coast as "just a rain event" ---- and not an overwhelming one at that.

Teaching virtually is a non-stop job, so I have done some of that along with a few chores.  I treated myself to a little crafting time with the Mojo sketch.  I love the layers Julee includes as they go so well with my patterned paper addiction.  These are scraps from a MME stack, and the doily was in my 'extras' container.  I brushed some soft golden ink around the edges of the layers and on the white die cut heart to pull everything together.  This is going in the mail now to encourage some dear family members who must stay safe at home during the pandemic.

Thanks for visiting,

Christine

Fence Boards and Flowers

The current Double D challenge theme is "Don't Fence Me In".  I love the look of Tim Holtz's 3D Lumber embossing folder. Embossed with kraft, sponged with Vintage Photo, and scored just a bit deeper, it looks like fence boards, which I used as a backdrop for PTI's Birthday Bouquet.  It was a fun card to create, and I hope I am not pushing the limits too far on the fence theme.

Sunflowers and Kindness

My week has included such kindness that I need two thank-you notes.  Newton's Nook Sunflower stamps are such fun to watercolor, and the Inky Paws provided a wonderful layout.

Garden Picks

This card was made to thank someone for a recent act of kindness that was a very special blessing. The opportunity to create a thank you card is a pleasure, as well!  I used Altenew Garden Picks to create the floral cluster, and the white layers are PTI dies.

Birthday Wishes

Teaching virtually means long hours and little time to craft!  This morning I picked up a curbside grocery order and started some laundry, sneaking in a little craft time as the washing machine does its work.

I used some recently stamped florals from Gran's Garden to create a birthday card for the Ink to Paper Birthday Card Challenge and used the fun MFT sketch for inspiration.  The lacy little doily bearing the sentiment is from a set of miniature doily Die-Namics by MFT.

This card is all ready to present to a birthday girl on Thursday!

"Herd" You Had a Birthday

The SSS Wednesday Challenge theme is fun or funny.  This stamp came from a MFT "bonus" set and contains three cute critters and coordinating punny sentiments.

It's always satisfying to create a card with MFT's Hogs and Kisses.  The fun images bring plenty of smiles!  I am thankful for a few minutes to get inky on a busy, busy weekend.

Mojo Monday: A Garden of Birthday Wishes

I didn't sweat the measurements on the Mojo Monday sketch after finding the pink gingham and saffron scraps.  I just used them as they were found.  I stamped the flowers from PTI's Gran's Garden over the weekend and left them on my desk as a 'crafting hope' for this week.  The days have been long and crafting time limited, but I was thrilled when the sketch, the scraps, and the flowers worked so nicely together.

Thankful for You

I used Farmer's Market Florals to create this Thankful for You card for Melissa's Fab Friday Challenge.  I am happy with the final result, which included several 'do-overs' because of glue smudges and crooked panels.

Hope you are having a restful Labor Day,

Christine

Thanks a Bunch with Birthday Bouquet

I am overjoyed to have found  a little right-before-bedtime crafting time yesterday!  I love using Ink to Paper's Birthday Bouquet stamps and dies.  They were  "must have" items that were out of stock for quite a while, and creating with them is such fun,  perhaps made better because of the long wait.

Thanks so much for visiting!  Have a safe and pleasant long weekend!  (I am taking time off from online teaching and know that I will do a better job next week because of that.)

Step Up Your Stencil: Boo!

This week's Mod Squad challenge led to lots of fun.  I blended ink through a Gina K Designs stencil, and set out to step it up by masking one circle, inking it in black, and doodling some spider features.  The letter dies are from my scrapbook stash and helped maintain a little whimsy.

Fall Basket

I have made the 'frightening discovery' that I don't have any Halloween stamps----pun intended.  I have concluded that is probably due to the fact that the beginning of school is so busy.  I do have a nice assortment of fall-themed stamps and dies that are a pleasure to use for Thanksgiving.  Wanting terribly to play along with the Ink to Paper challenge, I may be outside the boundaries with this card.  I do love the fun PTI dies that create this sweet bushel of apples.  I tucked in a few autumn leaves just for fun.
