When Pigs Dance

I am blessed with so many outgoing, fun people in my life.  They bring such good, clean laughs with their abilities to "ham it up", so I use Hog Heaven from MFT often. This time, I added a home-made wobble mechanism, so the little pig jiggles as he "juggles" the cupcakes.  I just can't stop playing with it!   The card is designed to open from the top and to reveal a gift card pocket inside.

We are expecting a rainy weekend, so I plan to make some time to craft.  Hope your weekend is fun whether inside or outside.

Birds of a Feather: Happy Birthday

Things have been SO busy since school started, and I only recently unpackaged these amazing MFT dies, snipped them apart, and placed them on magnetic sheets for easy access.  There's a great video on how to create this wreath, and I CASEd the example card.  I added my own twist with Papertrey Ink Edgers dies and the PTI Noted die.

It was a joy to play with some new dies and to have you visit,
Christine

Sunday Stamps: Grace to Help

I used my new Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Dies from Stamplorations to create the layers for the Sunday Stamps Sketch.  Verve's Autumn Leaves are scatter stamped over the base layer, and I used the beautiful verse from Hebrews as the focal point. It's a retired Verve product as is the lacy scalloped die used as the horizontal accent.

Thanks for taking a look,
Christine

MFT Sketch Challenge: Hello

I love MFT's new Birds of a Feather dies and decided to use the birdhouse as the focal point of the sketch.  The background is chalked and embossed with a leafy pattern, and the diagonal piece was embossed with the Tim Holtz "Lumber" folder....it has such great dimension!

So thankful for a sunny Sunday, some time to craft, and for your visit,
Christine

Fun Friday with Digital Delights by Louby Loo

Happy Friday!  It's time for another Fun Friday Challenge at Jo's Scrap Shack where the theme is always Anything Goes.  This week, our sponsor is Digital Delight by Louby Loo.  I had fun using this pre-colored image to create a quick project with clean layers.  DDLL provides an option for colored digital stamps and for images one can print and color as desired.  I know that my DT sisters have some samples showing their mad coloring skills.

Please take time to see the design team's samples and to link up your own creations.  It's always fun to see what you have to share!

Thanks so much for taking time to visit,

Christine

AHSC 282

CAS cards are not my forte, but with a great sketch like the one Michelle has provided this week, it's hard to go wrong.  I watercolored several panels Sunday after church and added a Reverse Confetti Wreath and a few leaves from Verve's Autumn Leaves collection (retired) over a strip of wahsi tape.

I so hope you will have time to use this wonderful sketch to create a card or tag.

Thanks for your visit,
Christine

Happy Birthday: Color Challenge Meets Sketch

I love combining color and sketch challenges!  I started with a panel embossed  with the Tim Holtz 3D Lumber embossing folder and sponged it with a bit of Rich Cocoa ink.  The flowers are cut from MFT's Pressed Flowers.  I love to cut them from watercolored panels and to just stamp the centers for a soft look.  The color scheme came from Color Throwdown, and I love it!  A sentiment is from MFT's Queen for a Day. I popped up some of the flowers with foam tape for a fun dimensional look.

Thank you for visiting,
Christine

Autumn Blessings

Last weekend, I did a little "watercolor experimentation" inspired by one of Kay Miller's cards.  I found that the ink didn't have the desired movement, so I used a combination of ink and watercolor.  The stamp set (Verve's Autumn Leaves) includes a solid layer and an outline layer, so it was perfect for this technique.  I finished with a little splatter from the left over water color puddles and die cut the slightly warped panel to flatten it out.

Christine

Inspired By: Coffee and Books

One card was just not enough for this wonderful photo....it features so many of my favorite things!  A new Stamplorations set was calling out to be used, and I enjoyed coloring it for this card!

Thanks for visiting.  Hope the week to come holds some quiet moments with the people and things you love,

Christine

Happy Birthday Scene

Crafting time is precious, so a double dose of inspiration always helps.  The MFT sketch seems to beg for a scene, and the color challenge palette  provided some great colors from the outdoors.  I used two MFT sets:  Adorable Elephants and Hog Heaven.  Love the CAS look that came from following the simple sketch!

Deepest Sympathy

Sadly, I am in need of a sympathy card for a friend.  It was created by layering an MFT doily over a panel embossed with a double wedding ring pattern.  The lacy layers behind the black Prima flowers are cut with the Tilth Floral Die.  The sentiment is a retired Verve product.

Christine

Inspired By: Apples and Plaid

What a fun inspiration photo....I love, plaid, coffee, apples, and books...so what's a stamper to choose?  I pulled out one of my favorite die sets ever...Reverse Confetti Edgers and paired it with Verve's sweet Teacher's Count, adding a bit of plaid for fun.  Can't wait to encourage a fellow teacher with this card!

So grateful for a little time to craft and for your visit,
Christine

Fun Friday with Bugaboo Stamps: Snow Special

Happy Friday!  It's time for another Fun Friday Challenge at Jo's Scrap Shack where the theme is always Anything Goes.  I had fun with the Three Snowmen from Bugaboo stamps.  A simple gingham background panel, a "junk bow, and a computer generated sentiment tag finish off this simple card.    Please take time to see the design team's samples and to link up your own creations.  It's always fun to see what you have to share!

Thanks so much for taking time to visit,

Atlantic Hearts Sketch 280

The evening photo doesn't do justice to the pretty papers I found at Michael's over the long weekend.  The collage of Eiffel Towers and roses is just so sweet!   The cluster of flowers is part of Reverse Confetti's Build a Bunch set and was watercolored using Arteza Real Brush Markers.

Hope you will find time to play along with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch this week.  It's always fun and inspiring to visit your blogs and see how you interpreted the sketch.
