"Depresso"

When I saw that the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop was coming, I ordered this set of stamps from YNS.  So happy to get them inky this evening. This card is actually going to school with me tomorrow.  My fourth graders and I are working through some fun lessons on puns, and I hope they 'get' this one!  I have some pretty wise students....the other day one little girl said with great expression, "Teachers NEED coffee."  How true...and how cute that would be on a stamp!

May Your Coffee Be Strong

I am so enjoying this beautiful day.  It's so much fun to squeeze in a little card making  in between Saturday errands and chores.   This is the second card made using the Rise and Shine digital set offered by Verve.

I guess this card has a "double shot" of espresso, because I also CASED a card on the Coffee Lovers Blog.

Never Underestimate the Power of Coffee

The fun sentiment was shared by designer Gloria Stengel in the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, and the coffee cup is from Verve's Coffee Stamp Set which has matching dies.  It is so much fun to stamp and cut from patterned paper.

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

So excited that spring is beginning to show her face (even though Spring Break was last week, for me) and that it's time for the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

I had so much fun planning this card using a favorite stack of My Mind's Eye papers (I've bought it twice), MFT Stitched Flowers Dies, and Verve's Coffee Stamps and Dies.

"CASE of Coffee"

There is a fun CASE Challenge going on at the Coffee Loving Card Makers Blog.  The watercolor panel was cut with My Favorite Things Stitched Square and layered onto the matching MFT Scalloped Square.  I didn't have any fun gold and white striped paper, so I placed Verve's Rounded Scalloped Frame  on a scrap of white card stock and "eyeballed" the placement of four pieces of washi tape.  It cut beautifully  and left a nice interior piece for later use. The stamps are Verve's Coffee set which has matching dies.  I would definitely have to call that my favorite (stamped) coffee cup, especially because it is such fun to stamp on prints with tiny flowers.

Coffee-themed Tag

Karen Letchworth, a super-sweet and talented crafter, left a message about the the Paper Sweeties March Challenge which is coffee themed.  I love coffee and have several coffee-themed stamps and dies, so I was ready to go!  This project started out with a card sketch and some carefully selected scraps that, unfortunately, I "mis-cut".  (Is that a word?  I cut them incorrectly for sure, so my plan was toast.)

With the cup already made, I cut the pink panel into a tag and went crazy adding a wild mixture of dies and patterns from a Heidi Swapp stack that's is about used up. The result is not my typical project, but I think I like it and am sure it will adorn a "coffee gift".

Ham it Up!

One of my favorite folks ---who might be a ham--- has a birthday coming up on April 1st.  I had a bit of watercolored and splattered paper left over from CASEing Jenny's card at TIME OUT Challenges and decided to add it to this week's MFT sketch along with a cute die cut from MFT Hog Heaven.

3:16 and Easter Wishes

Today is 3.16.  For many, 3:16 creates a quick connection to the scripture verse shown above.  As the stores fill with Easter decorations and pretty clothes, it's important that we understand the meaning of Christ's death and His powerful resurrection.  Jesus died for me and for you that we might accept His free gift of forgiveness, something we could never earn on our own.  Because  He loves us so much, Jesus  chose to take our punishment that we might know Him abundantly now and live with Him forever in Heaven.  It is with that peace and joy that I share Easter greetings.

It was fun to CASE Jenny's beautiful card at TIME OUT Challenges.  I chose to echo the background by swooshing and splattering watercolors and using some favorite MFT dies.  The image, sentiment, and matching dies are from Verve's Hip Hop Bunnies.  The soft papers are from Just Peachy Designs, and I chose this week's Sunday Stamps sketch for the layout.

Happy Birthday--And a Big Thank-You

What fun I am having on this cold Sunday afternoon during Spring Break!  It's funny how we had spring-like weather and blooming azaleas in February, and it's wet and cold at the beginning of Spring Break.  No worries....I am so thankful for some new crafting goodies and the opportunity to use them!  The Reverse Confetti Nesting Circle Dies and the Reverse Confetti Tall Tags were purchased with a gift certificate won at Christina Hor's Hug A Heart Blog Hop.   (Thank you, Christina!)  I hope you will visit Christina's blog.  She is a sweet, talented card-maker whose card drives bless children receiving cardiac care.

This awesome sketch is from the Sunday Stamps Blog, and I took some liberties with the banner element because I was determined to use my new dies.  The sentiment is from Verve's Poppy Birthday.  I cleaned my desk and put my stamps away after using it yesterday, but it was out of the bin again today!

Mojo Birthday

My card supply is woefully lacking masculine cards, but this week's Mojo sketch provided great inspiration.  Tim Holtz papers and a few enamel dots accent the simple card.  My only nod to "fancy" is the beautifully scripted greeting from Verve's Poppy Birthday.

Mojo Monday ---- All the joy your heart can hold

It's funny how this card came to be a birthday card.  My search for gold and rainbow papers to echo the sentiment resulted in the pretty stripes and bright yellow.  I couldn't resist using the last little scrap of the tiled birthday print, and had an entirely different greeting than I'd envisioned.  It is perfectly fine that this card has a St. Patrick's Day flair, because the birthday girl was born just one day later, on March 18th.

Visit the Verve Blog  to get your own cute set of digital stamps and to play along in the fun contest.

May your blessings be many!

Hello crafty friends!  It's been a wonderful weekend, and I am so thankful that Sunday afternoon was slow and rainy, allowing for a little card-making time.  This square card was so much fun to make using the Lucky Day Digital set from Verve.  It's available free for a limited time and has some really sweet sentiments and images.  It came together quickly with MFT dies and papers from the Coffee Shop.

Hopping by to say hi!

This weekend's plans include a "short hop" to say hi to someone very special who happens to love Ghirardelli chocolates.  I couldn't resist this tiny little package containing (two--I think) tiny caramel filled chocolate bunnies.  They are probably the squares stamped with bunnies, but how cute and how yummy!  ETA:  They are tiny, shaped bunnies.  They are ever SO cute, and I HEARD they were good!

The tag is cut using an older Sizzix die --- the thick kind that requires removing the platform from the Big Shot.  The cute bunny image and sentiment which are just perfect for this little gift are from Verve's Hip Hop Bunnies, a set which also has matching dies.

Happy weekend everyone!  Here' "hopping" that God gives you little things filled with joy!

Fun Friday Challenge 178

Happy Friday!  It's time for another Fun Friday Challenge at Jo's Scrap Shack where the theme is always Anything Goes.  Di's Digis is the wonderful sponsor for this week. If you have some of her adorable digs, we would love to see them, but that is not required.

My card is part of a set I am working on using Verve's Kindness Matters.  The embellishments are simple to use  for mass production:  a little washi tape, some score lines, and a bit of water color splatter.  I am using papers from the scrap bowl on my desk....always happy to find things there that look pretty together.

Please take time to see the design team's samples and to link up your own creations.  It's always fun to see what you have to share!
