Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 288

Donuts by Jane's Doodles is such a cute stamp set!  I found a scrap of donut patterned paper in my stash, and this card came together quickly.  Hope you will take time to play along at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge this week!

MFT Sketch: "Mistle-Toad"

Love, love this week's MFT sketch which is inspiring for CAS and would look great with some extra layers, too.

I couldn't resist ordering the "Mistle-Toad" stamp set.  What could make that darling little toad a tiny bit cuter except a punny sentiment?!

Hope this brings a giggle. Thanks for visiting,
Christine

MOJO Monday is back!!!!

It's always fun to visit Julee Tilman's blog!  She posted a beautiful card on Monday and brought back the Mojo Monday sketch.  Hooray!

I learned to stamp by following the Mojo Monday and Viva La Verve sketches and still feel like my cards are prettier when guided by Julee's well-balanced sketches. Thanks so much for a new one!

I watercolored the Technique Tuesday hydrangea with Arteza Real Brush Markers after embossing it in gold.  The sentiment is from Verve's Scripture Medley Five.

Christine

MFT Sketch Challenge: Happy Birthday

Hopefully, I didn't depart from the sketch too much!  I love paper piecing this sweet Pure Innocence figure and intended to center it over the Magical Mandala die.  In the interest of keeping the design less busy, I scooted the PI figure down and used the sentiment as the horizontal element.

Elegant Autumn Blessings

What a milestone for The Card Concept and what a gorgeous inspiration photo!  There certainly are some fabulous card-makers sharing projects based upon this oh-so-sweet photo.  Congrats on the 100th challenge!

Verve's Autumn Leaves stamps and dies (retired) take center stage on my card.  The frame was created by cutting a stitched rectangle around Papertrey Ink's Mix and Match Plaid die.  A scrap of gold card stock peeks through from underneath. Such fun to make....a little hard to photograph.

Inky Paws: Newton Scoots By

I found a wonderful stack of papers at Tuesday Morning that has a clean, masculine feel.  Thought I would send this as a "hello" card to my son who is off at college.  I decided to let more of the pretty colors show by using a circular frame rather than a solid circle.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch 286

Michelle has done it again!  What a beautiful sketch she has created for us to enjoy this week on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog.

I love to browse color challenges just as much as I love sketches.  I thought the color palette at Sunday Stamps was just gorgeous.  The soft aqua reminded me of those pretty caning jars, so that's where I started.  The tiny Verve leaves were cut from scraps of watercolored paper that I just knew I could get one more use from. What do you know?  The scraps were adequate for these little leaves.  That's why the tiniest scrap of paper never gets thrown away......

MFT Color Challenge -More Stitched Flowers

This is card number two using a collection of flowers cut from watercolor paper prepared with the MFT challenge palette.  The flowers were cut with MFT's Stitched Florals, and the leaves are from Birds of a Feather. To incorporate the gray shade, a layer of paper was added under the plaid die cut.  Such a pretty contrast to the vivid cool colors.

MFT Color Challenge: Stitched Flowers

I started this project by watercoloring several quarter sheets of paper with the challenge's selected shades.  The flowers were cut with MFT's Stitched Florals, and the leaves are from Birds of a Feather.  Just love the fun blooms and greenery available in these sets!  To incorporate the gray, I used Flower Splatter.  I made lots of flowers, so there will be more cards with this sweet color palette.

CAS Encouragement: Be Strong and Take Heart

The Calling All Sistahs blog hosts a monthly challenge that is all about encouragement.  I played along this summer when crafting time was more plentiful, and was delighted to find a little while to make a card based on the current black and white theme.  Actually, I worked on this a few minutes for a couple of evenings and finally put all the pieces together this afternoon.  The scripture is one I love and take great personal encouragement from.

WCMD--Flower Power

Still so glad I treated myself to MFT's Stitched Flowers a couple years ago.  The set remains a favorite, and it immediately came to mind for their Flower Power Challenge for WCMD.

WCMD Clean and Simple

After learning of MFT's World Card Making Challenges, I made a card for each one. This one is in the CAS category, and it took me longer than the other two!  It took a few tries to get the masking sequence down, and I can see all the imperfections, but everything takes time and practice.  Maybe someday I will master the clean and simple look. The stamp set was a bonus with my last MFT order and has the cutest little farm animals and witty sayings.

Thanks for your visit,
Christine

WCMD Challenge (ROYGBIV)

Happy World Card Making Day!  It was well into evening when I discovered this fun challenge at MFT.  Playing along trumped my to-do list.  It was so much fun to stamp MFT's Pressed Flowers in rainbow hues and to display them in a simple layout.

Christine

Fun Friday Challenge with The Cutting Cafe

Happy Friday!  It's time for another Fun Friday Challenge at Jo's Scrap Shack where the theme is always Anything Goes.  I was fortunate to work with the Stationery Caddy cut file from the Cutting Cafe.  The Cutting Cafe files always cut cleanly and have wonderfully clear instructions.

Please take time to see the design team's samples and to link up your own creations.  It's always fun to see what you have to share!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch 284

I am so very impressed by and thankful for the wonderful sketches that Michelle provides each week for inspiration and fun on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog.  To be truthful, I am intimidated by any sketch with grids or straight panels because I have trouble getting things just that...straight.  I decided to have fun and see what happened.  I started by selecting a pretty red print and cut it a bit smaller to accommodate darker mats.  The red panels took me in the direction of Christmas, so I added a beloved Verve greeting (retired) and some MFT stitched flowers that were left over from a set of Christmas tags.  I am happy with the finished card and so grateful to Michelle for the inspiration!

Thanks for taking a look. Hope you find time to play along!

Queen for the Day

When MFT released Queen for the Day this summer, I had a certain recipient in mind for a card made from this set.  Her birthday will be celebrated in just a few days, and I hope this card brings a huge smile!  I would like to thank Karolyn for the inspiration her card provided.
