Valentine Notes

Our principal designed a special project for Valentine's Day. The teachers and staff at my elementary school were provided with half sheets of card stock on which we are to write messages of encouragement for our colleagues.  As a paper crafter, I couldn't resist decorating them with die cuts and stamps.  The cards will be collected and bound into books for each staff member to receive on Valentine's Day!  I love the idea of making these sweet little books and had lots of fun decorating about three dozen cards using.  The MFT dies created such cute little bouquets and used lots of scraps which is always a win! This would be lots of fun to do in Sunday School or with a Bible study group when it is safe to meet again.

Floral Teacup

One of my favorite simple crafty tricks is to die cut cups/mugs from patterned paper.  This floral motif was just the right size for the gorgeous Stamp Simply die.  I just love the dainty shape of the cup.  As much as I like the cup, I think it gets a little lost in the design.    It's just paper,  though, and it is really fun to try again when it comes to card making!

Thanks for stopping by and take care,

Budding Beauties and Just Mason Around

I am so excited about the Double D theme----Flowers in containers!  I ordered Budding Beauties and Just Mason Around from The Greetery hoping to have some new photopolymer playthings for Fall Break, but the post office took them on a very long trip, and they didn't make it during the break. I opened the new packages and spent the afternoon creating piles and piles of flowers in all colors along with plenty of jars to hold them. My desk is so colorful!

Praying all of you are safe and healthy----whether you are able to stay home and craft or if you have to be out and about.  Take care,
Christine

With Love

I enjoy playing along with the Ink to Paper challenge any time my stamps fit the theme.  This week's theme is "Sending Love", so I used the sentiment from "With Love" Splits.  The card also includes some  old favorites---the bookmark die and Bitty Bouquets----over a background inked with Hibiscus Burst, Aqua Mist, Harvest Gold, and Lilac Grace.

Birthday Cupcakes

Hooray for the first Mojo Monday sketch of 2021 and a very happy birthday to the Double D Challenge!  The Mojo Monday sketches keep me inspired, and I have come to enjoy playing along at the Double D Challenge over the last year or so.  Teaching school in-person and virtually is keeping me busy enough that crafting time is becoming a rarity, so it is a special treat to play along with some challenges using these cute dies from MFT.

Thanks for taking a peek,

Christine

Birthday Bouquet

Awwww!  I missed the deadline for Ink to Paper's heart themed card challenge.  However, I did slide under the wire for a friend's birthday----it's tomorrow, and this will be hand delivered.  The florals are from PTI's Birthday Bouquet set....such fun to stamp with a little shading!

Penguin Tags

Making Christmas tags to share and to use when wrapping gifts is so very satisfying.  I made a set of one design yesterday and created a dozen penguins this afternoon.  I haven't seen my extended family since Christmas a year ago and hope that summer will bring an opportunity to travel and visit safely. If so, the idea of sharing some simple handmade gifts for Christmas in June or July brings me such hope and joy.  For now, these little tags will be tucked away in anticipation of the next time we will be together.

Love in Bloom: Happy Valentine's Day

The current Ink to Paper Challenge is to create a "love card", and I pulled out lots of Papertrey sweetness to create this Valentine.  The floral heart and sentiment are from the darling Love in Bloom set and are layered on a Shape Shifter oval with a dainty heart border.  Loosely Woven is used for part of the background panel, and it is all mounted on an A2 Scalloped Noted base---another of my favorites.

We have enjoyed a quiet day at home to start 2021. Along with creating a card, I embellished the first page in my new journal using plenty of floral stamps and pretty dies.
