Let Every Heart Prepare Him Room

This was a last-minute set of Christmas cards that I didn't take time to post back in December, so I thought I would share it now.    Just goes to show that our supplies can be versatile.  This Christmas card features a tiny heart die, paper with foiled hearts, and a heart doily which are all perfect for the sweet Verve sentiment.

Happy Valentine's Day

I was recently blessed with a win in the MFT Sketch Challenge and was able to order a stamp set and two die sets with the gift code.  This die is called Pieces of My Heart, and, in my opinion, it could be used year 'round.  It's great for scraps and is easy to assemble.  These were some very small scraps in my stash, and it was fun to use them.  The only thing I would do differently is to make sure the papers are all the same thickness.  The tiny hot pink piece is  a thicker card stock, and it stands out just a bit.

Thanks so much MFT!

Fintastic Valentine

I was blessed with a win in the MFT Sketch Challenge, and these adorable dies arrived in the FedEx truck this afternoon.  I couldn't wait to play with them and have created a stack of sharks for card-making.

Thanks MFT!

No One Can Top You

Creating with MFT's Pizza My Heart stamps and dies is always so much fun, and the card's recipient never fails to be delighted.  I love the dies to create the pizza topping....the bell pepper is my favorite both on the paper pizza and on the pizza ordered for a meal.  This week's simple sketch creates a fun spot for this cute pizza!

Gran's Garden on White

The current Great Cover-Up challenge on the Papertrey Ink blog includes several wonderful cards and as many great ideas.  The challenge is to create a white-on-white background.  I love the helpful hint to keep some of these white-on-white bases prepared and ready for quick cards.  My background consists of the following layers:  Tin Stitched; Bracket die; Delicacies die.  All these sweet shapes are covered with blooms from Gran's Garden.

Take Heart all who Hope in the Lord

I send friendly notes and encouragement cards as part of my volunteer work, and I thought I'd send Valentines.  I wanted them to focus on God's love rather than romance, so I used new dies from PTI (I Heart You) and a dear retired scripture from Verve.  Can't wait to get these in the mail.

Take heart and hope in the Lord,

Christine

Isaiah 6:3 for Word Art Wednesday

This scripture is gorgeous...both in its awe-inspiring content and in the beauty of how it has been shared in word art.  It is available for download at Word Art Wednesday where you can also see inspiration pieces and read a related devotional.  It's worth a stop!

My card includes Fun Frames and Wreath Favor Box florals, both from Papertrey Ink.  The PTI papers and inks work together so well!

Pastel Birthday Bouquet

Shauna has shared a wonderful video on the Papertrey Ink blog showing the creative process for a gorgeous floral bouquet card.  I am taking the challenge to create a floral bouquet using the Birthday Bouquet set from PTI.  I have fallen in love with Mint Julep so I kept the colors soft to coordinate with the pale leaves.  The card base is Aqua Mist...another favorite shade, and the intricate border was cut using the Scrolled Frame die.

Thanks so much for visiting.  I hope your Monday is as wonderful as mine has been!

Happy Birthday with Lush Blooms

Dana shared a bright and cheerful card on the PTI blog as she challenged card-makers to create a floral birthday card.  My creation features Lush Blooms in Soft Blush, Hibiscus Burst, and Raspberry Fizz.  A Delicates die and a little foliage from Into the Blooms Dahlias are tucked behind.  It's already in an envelope for a friend's birthday tomorrow.

Peony Love

Swooning over the gorgeous inspiration at the Card Concept.  I wish my dining room table were decorated like the one in the photo!

I was inspired by the pink flowers and the bold black and white stripes as I created my clean and layered card which consists of Papertrey Ink's Into the Blooms: Peonies dies, Charming Tags I, and Tiny Tags.

Warm Fuzzies

I was blessed with a win in the PIP Challenge, and this is one of the adorable Gerda Steiner stamps purchased with the gift code.  It was tons of fun to watercolor this cute little bear with Distress Inks and to place him center-stage on the card front.  The sweet sentiment is stamped inside:  Sending you lots of warm fuzzies.

Many thanks to Pam and Lacy for the wonderful challenge and fabulous prize!

Monochrome Hello

The Great Cover-Up Challenge on the Papertrey Ink blog includes a great tutorial on layering die cuts to create a 'faux 3-D embossed' look.  The Delicates die is layered three times for each use on the card panel.  All in all, I used almost a whole 12 x 12 sheet of cardstock for the panel and the die cuts.  A little Plum Pudding ink was blended over the assembled panel to add some depth, and then I added white acrylic paint splatters.  It's finished off with a Hello die  which was stacked four times.

This was a fun process....hope you will give it a try.

Psalm 146:2 for Word Art Wednesday

Welcome to the first Word Art Wednesday challenge for the new year!  Singing praise to God is a wonderful way to begin 2022, for certain!

The vertical orientation of this sweet verse said bookmark to me, and the content of the Psalm seemed fitting with musical patterned paper and birds.  The strip of paper on the left was a perfectly-sized scrap from a Heidi Swapp stack.  Brushed Birds stamped in Aqua Mist coordinate with the Bitty Big print used for the base of the card.  I wanted the bookmark to detach easily, so I strategically glued the edges of the birds to create a bit of a pocket....so simple!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Christine
