Grace Changes Everything
Mojo Monday makes every Monday better. This past Monday was a busy one, as was the week to follow, and I am happy for a little time to play around with this fun sketch. Seems like fall cards are starting to pop up on blogs and social media, but I was in the mood for butterflies and softer colors. Love this sentiment...it is so true!!
Have a wonderful week to come,
Christine

Amazing to the Core
Michelle's card, chosen for inspiration |
Laurie's challenge on the Ink to Paper blog is to choose an inspiration piece from the latest release. This amazing set arrived in my mailbox Thursday, and I am so glad I got to create with it this afternoon. I loved ALL the projects featuring this sweet tag but chose to CASE Michelle's card (shown to the left) which places the image as the centerpiece of the card. I really intended to add a bow, but was interrupted by a couple of guys wanting supper. The bow will be added after the photo....oh, well!
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed week,
Christine

Thank You in Blue
My new students arrive for the first day of class tomorrow, and I decided to treat myself to a little crafting time by making a new card instead of pulling one out of my stash. This is for a sweet new student who brought a special gift to "Meet the Teacher" Night.
The fun dotted pattern was stenciled on using the Sun Spots stencil by Gina K. Designs. I cut the script-y thank you sentiment three times using a Sizzix die and glued the three cuts together for added dimension. There is a subtle vellum oval between the sentiment and the background to help the words stand out a little more.
Thanks for stopping by. Please take a moment to pray for all the littles returning to school in the coming days.

God is our refuge and strength
I picked up this stack of Pebbles paper at Tuesday Morning on one of my summer excursions and decided that I would FIRST use the pieces I like most of all. Maybe this will help me break out of that mindset that says not to use up the pretty papers. This week's Mojo sketch has some great layers that just called out for some coordinating prints.
This is my favorite style of card: clean layers, lots of patterned paper, and a sentiment as the focal point. I used stitched dies from MFT for the banners, rectangles, and circle. The base is a PTI Noted die.
Happy crafting,
Christine

Let us come boldly to the throne of grace
After so much time to craft this summer, it seems like ages since I've made a card. It's been a busy week getting back to school. There's been a heavy burden for someone dear, so this card with its special scripture promise is going in the mail right away. No matter what life brings, I hope you will know that we may boldly approach God's throne to receive mercy and grace to help in time of need.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Praying you will be reminded of God's goodness through this precious verse,
Christine

Punny Love: For My New Students
"Olive" the adorable Punny Love stamp set from Sweet and Sassy Stamps! I teach elementary school and have such fun with puns, exaggerations, idioms, and other types of word play. My new students will be here in just eleven days, and I couldn't resist making a classroom-sized set of fun-sized cards. Each one has a note of welcome inside. Can't wait to see my new students and their reactions to these greetings.
Some of the adorable images in the set. They are darling and such fun to color. Notes like this would be perfect for lunchboxes! |
Thanks so much for stopping by. Would love your prayers for a great school year,
Christine

Tuesday Throwdown
Black and White Thanks
Laurie's Fabulous Favorites Challenge is back, and the task is to create a card using only black and white. It was hard to ignore the bright pink blooms that called from my "extras bowl", but I stuck to the stark color scheme, using some of my PTI favorites. The plaid layer is from a black and white MME stack.
Dies: PTI Large Scallop Stackers, PTI Shape Shifters Square
Stamps: PTI Bitty Bouquets
Thanks for taking a look,
Christine
