America the Beautiful

Working on Independence Day cards using the beautiful God Bless America collection from Echo Park.  Love the papers and wonderful sentiments!

Red, White, and Florals

The red, white, and blue floral sheets are my favorite in Echo Park's God Bless America stack.....that is, the ones most likely to be hoarded.  A two-inch strip of that pattern makes a beautiful accent and inspired the use of the white flowers.

God Bless America

Unfortunately, I waited to just about the last minute to make Independence Day greetings.  Fortunately, SSS has a red, white, and/or blue challenge going on, and I can enter a few cards.  Fortunately, the God Bless America collection from Echo Park has great papers, and fortunately, Lin shared a fabulous card that I CASED.  Unfortunately, I didn't get the horizontal blue piece straightened out while the glue was still wet, but I like it anyway!

So, here's my card with a nod to a wonderful children's book!

Christine

Fourth of July

I am having so much fun with Echo Park's "God Bless America" papers and coordinating stamps.  I love to celebrate our nation's birthday, and these papers are just fabulous. The background of this square card features The Star Spangled Banner and will go to special friends in memory of our visit to Fort McHenry---a great experience!

Happy Birthday America

Some pretty patriotic papers from Echo Park took care of the front of this card, leaving the inside for stamping with the coordinating images and greetings.  The inside bears the cutest little silhouette of a parade and the sentiment God Bless America.

Thoughts of You

Effortless Beauties are so well-named!  They are truly gorgeous and are absolutely effortless to align.   The MISTI makes it such fun to create a whole beautiful variety of blooms all in one setting.  There are several layers to the background, in keeping with the Great Cover Up Challenge on the Ink to Paper Blog.

Thanks for stopping by,

Effortless Beauties: Sunshine and Laughter

Shauna has a beautiful card and instructional video on the Ink to Paper blog and challenges us to create a bright summer card.  I had fun inking up Effortless Beauties in bright colors and layering them with a Verve sentiment over some pretty green buffalo checks.

Since Effortless Beauties and the Doodle Bugs papers are new and being used for the first time, I am entering in Darnell's NBUS (Never Before Used Stuff) Challenge.  So glad I remembered...it's like Christmas morning when I break out new stamps, and I get so excited!

How good and pleasant for brethren to dwell together in unity

It is a blessing to share at Word Art Wednesday, and I am so excited that this verse is available for download.  It is a precious truth that unity is a pleasant condition.   Unity is available to believers within our families and church bodies when we are obedient to God.  This is a great scripture to claim in prayer!

I hope you will visit Word Art Wednesday soon to read the devotions, to download the digital scripture, and to share one of your projects.

Thanks for visiting,

Christine

Raindrops on Posies

Into the Blooms II is my newest set of Ink to Paper dies, and I love creating with them. The current "What do I do with this"  challenge on the Ink to Paper blog is all about using those pretty little raindrops as embellishments.  The package within closest reach as I was working contains multiple sizes of iridescent drops, and only one of them was stubborn about landing flat-side-down in the adhesive.  They are easy to use and add a nice touch to floral cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Christine

Blooming Scraps

This week's Great Cover Up challenge on the Papertrey Ink blog is to use scraps to create a background layer.  I have saved every left-over snippet from this pretty pink and mint collection and pieced together strips to use on this card.  The resulting panel was cut into two rectangles and adorned with a flower from Into the Blooms II.  The pink and green pieces were scraps from the same collection and the banner is 'the trimming' from a larger sentiment strip.

Father's Day Blessings with Newton

I love sketch challenges, and the one shared at Inky Paws is a keeper, for sure!  Needing a Father's Day card for my husband, I colored the kitty to look like our more challenging fur baby.  I know DH will recognize Sassy and have a good laugh.

Coffee with Stampendous

Lisa B is hosting a giveaway on the Coffee Lover's Blog----all it takes is sharing a card made with a sponsor's image.  In the most recent hop, I was blessed with a gift from Stampendous and one of my chosen prizes was this fun background set.  For Mother's Day, I received the pretty Stampendous florals and decided to add them to a die cut coffee cup by Stamp Simply.  Since this was the first inking for both stamps, I will share on Darnell's NBUS challenge.  (Usually, I get so giddy over opening new goodies that I don't even think about it!!)

Deuteronomy 5:29: A Heart to Fear God

Hello crafting friends,

It is such a blessing to guest design for Word Art Wednesday!   It is one of the first challenges I participated in as a beginning card maker.  The devotions, word art, and kind comments have been a blessing over the years.  If you haven't played along, I hope you will give it a try.

Just Bee- cause

I received these cute Becky Moore stamps from someone who loves gnomes.  It was fun to open the package and to color this cute little guy named Norbert.  The papers are from a Disney themed stack by Echo Park.  I wanted to keep a masculine look, so the colors for Norbert's wardrobe were chosen to coordinate with the stars and stripes.

Layered Floral Sketches

Love, love, love Shauna's video featuring a gorgeous card using Into the Blooms II. When the email came stating that set was back in stock, I ordered it.  So excited to be receiving some PTI happy mail soon!

The current challenge is to create a card featuring layered florals.  This card was created by die cutting two sizes of blooms from Floral Sketches, inking each with a blending brush, adding the detail stamp, and layering with foam tape.  The flowers are big and bright in Harvest Gold/Summer Sunrise, Hibiscus Burst/Raspberry Fizz, and Plum Pudding.  They are layered over the Scrolled Frame die and adorned with a few dewdrops.

Thanks for taking a look,

Christine

Joy

What a fun occasion--combining a new stencil with one of my favorite challenges!  The current Ink to Paper "What do I do with this?" challenge provides a couple of gorgeous samples showing ink blending done through stencils.  I stenciled snowflakes in Summer Rain and Blueberry Sky, moving the stencil between colors to add a little depth.  This  set the Christmas theme, providing a place for layering the Delicates dies with a stem from Bitty Bouquets done up in red and green.  This might have just started a desire to get Christmas projects going!

Sunshine and Laughter

I am incredibly thankful to have enjoyed a beginning-of-summer visit with my parents, brother, and his family!  It's been such a long time due to Covid, and I am grateful not only for a long overdue visit but also for the fact that we are all healthy.  So many families do not have that joy, and they are in my prayers.

With the end of the school year and trip preparations, it's been a long time since I've made a card.  This one is for Ink to Paper's Great Cover Up challenge. It's based on the idea that we get more crafting mileage from intricate background dies by using simple shapes to calm busy designs.  I layered a stitched rectangle over the gorgeous Scrolled Frame die for a new look. The florals from Gran's Garden are stamped in Aqua Mist.

Wishing you sunshine and laughter,

Christine
