Floral Birthday

I created this card for MFT's monthly birthday challenge where the current theme is floral birthday.  The flowers were cut from white card stock using MFT's Stitched Flowers dies.  I inked each piece  with Distress Oxides using a blender brush.

Not a Spirit of Fear

Love this scripture, and it so applies to the circumstances at hand.  God is good, He is in control, and He loves us so much.  Nothing changes that, and He does want us to live in faith rather than in fear.  It was encouraging to think about the truth of this verse while creating.

The layers of my tag are cut from a Pink Fresh die, and the scripture is from Stamplorations.

Watercolored Peony

So much has happened since the 30-day Coloring Challenge began at which time I promised myself I'd participate.  I've received training in delivering on-line instruction and will "see" students Monday.  With that learning curve underway, I decided to take a little time to color.  Working on this pretty peony image from Reverse Confetti was so relaxing!  I used Arteza real brush markers and a water brush on Bristol paper.

Hope you are doing well and can take a little time to do something you enjoy,
Christine

Happy Anniversary

Today is our 30th anniversary....I'm a teacher, and we married over Spring Break, so St. Patrick's Day it is!  I am so very thankful to have been able to visit the grocery store this morning with a specific list and to be able to get those items.  Included are the ingredients for the meal I cook my husband on special occasions.  It was truly a blessing!

Tomorrow, I learn to deliver instruction to my elementary students on-line.  Truthfully, this creates some anxiety, but I feel that God's challenge to me during this crisis is to trust Him rather than to give into fear. I've read Psalm 91 lots of times, and am comforted by the truth that if we abide in Him, we do will not be afraid.

Praying God will bless you today,
Christine

My Help Comes from the Lord

What an eventful week this has been!  We spent Spring Break having flooring installed in several rooms while painting another ourselves.  We also assembled a new desk to refresh a home office.  Most things are dusted and back in place with just a little work to be done in my craft room tomorrow.

On the Corona Virus front, our school district has moved to on-line learning with teacher training to be held as early as Wednesday of next week.   There are two confirmed cases in our county, so church was held on-line today.  The sermon was encouraging and helpful, reminding us that God has never ceased to be in control.  While He  expects to walk in wisdom, we are called to love and minister to others. There are lots of things we can safely do to bless others, and one is to pray.

This scripture is a favorite of mine, and I thought about and prayed this truth while crafting, knowing that God will have the perfect recipient who needs to be encouraged by this truth.

Soft Florals from Gran's Garden

Good morning! Today is the first day of Spring Break, and I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the gentlemen who will install our new floors, opening the way for my craft room to once again be functional.  There's not much around here that is in its original place or that looks too neat and tidy, but the results will be worth it!

I am playing along with Melissa Phillips' new feature on the Ink to Paper blog.  She provided a lovely tutorial explaining how to create her signature soft floral look.  I stamped the flowers from Gran's Garden in Aqua Mist and Hawaiian Shores and was able to get the Aqua Mist to soften beautifully.  Thinking the Hawaiian Shores looked a little bright, I gave the flowers a good splattering of watered down white acrylic paint.  It was a very fun process and one I would like to practice more when the house is not in such chaos.

Thanks for looking,
Christine
