VLV Sketch Challenge: Fabulous Birthday

Our Badge
Surprise!  A birthday sneaked up on me.  DH needs a card tomorrow.  So very thankful that the Verve sketch includes measurements and that I picked up a birthday themed paper stack at Tuesday Morning recently!  Added a favorite Verve stamp from Better Together and this quick masculine card was finished!

Thanks for taking a peek,
Christine

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop: Thanks a Latte

Progress on my summer project has been delayed until one of the pieces falls into place this afternoon.  Until then, stampers gotta stamp!  This card was made using two Verve Stamp sets:  Coffee and Fill My Cup.  The images were embossed on watercolor paper and topped with distress oxide inks in Worn Lipstick, Peacock Feathers, and Cracked Pistachio.  The central coffee cup was also stamped on watercolor paper, and I tinted it with a very dry water brush dipped in Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink.  The enamel dots are hiding the adhesive behind the vellum.

Thanks so much for visiting,
Christine

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop: Happy, Happy Birthday!

This birthday card is for my sweet niece who has grown up to be a lovely young woman with a kind and coffee-loving heart. What fun it was to make this card!  The background is cut from Papertrey's Mix and Mat Heart Die.  The little yellow bloom is cut with MFT's Stitched Flowers die set.  The coffee cup is from Verve's Coffee stamp set, and the Happy, Happy was masked from a phrase in Verve's Poppy Birthday.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch 266--Happy Graduation in Pinks

Oh, I love the Atlantic Hearts Sketch for this week and can't wait to see the challenge entries.  My wreath was created using the smaller flowers from Bloom Brighter and Sprightly Sprigs cut from a sheet of variegated green paper.  I used Pixie and Smoothie inks from Close to My Heart and a sentiment from Sparkly Dreams, finishing of with a few adhesive-backed rhinestones.

Thanks for your visit,
Christine

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Playing along with the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop was my "reward" for getting lots of things marked off my to-do list today.  I had fun using the Something Blue Prima papers and layering lots and lots of dies behind the cuppa joe from Verve's Coffee stamp set.

A little bit of coffee and a whole lot of Jesus

I am so thankful for a little time to make a card for the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  It is always such fun to play along.  Last year, the hop occurred when my schedule was nice and slow, but not so this year.  I am glad to get to sneak a card in!  This one was created using two Verve sets:  Happiness Is and Fill my Cup.

Christine

Sunday Stamps Color Inspiration: You Bloom Brighter Every Day

Sunday Stamps provides a fun bi-weekly challenge, alternating between sketches and color palettes to inspire.  The bright hues included in this photo inspired me to create a cluster of blooms using MFT's Stitched Flower dies and the bright blooms are perfect for a sentiment from Verve's Bloom Brighter.  Other dies include a scalloped circle from Reverse Confetti, a stitched circle from MFT, and a stitched, scalloped layer from Newton's Nook.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a blessed Memorial Day.  We have much to be thankful for.

Jeremiah 29:11---Take 2

Thought I had all the graduation cards we needed when hubs reminded me of another.....The Verve Sketch came to the rescue again!  This time, I used Tim Holtz papers, stamped the cross in Antique Linen Distress Ink, and stamped Jeremiah 29:11 from Faith Medley over the cross.

Time to think about clearing off my desk and getting ready for school tomorrow. Thanks for visiting and have a great week,
Christine

VLV Sketch Challenge: Jeremiah 29:11 for a Graduate

This time of year is so busy---final grades, awards ceremonies, field trips, getting my son off for his summer job, preparing for June community service....So, my mantra has been, "Refrain from crafting, refrain from crafting."  Today, I realized that I promised to make two graduation cards and hadn't done so.  Maybe I need to resolve to make my graduation cards over Christmas break...ha ha!

I am so grateful for the Verve sketch and its handy measurements.  Do you see my new Lacey Trim Duo peeking out?  (It is one of the reasons I am having trouble refraining from crafting.)  Verve's Jeremiah 29:11 (now in Faith Medley) is the perfect assurance for graduates.

Thanks for stopping by,
Christine

Verve Inspiration Challenge: Pink ---Thanks for making my day awesome!

I was blessed to win a gift from Verve Stamps during the April Inspiration challenge and ordered the beautiful Bloom Brighter set. I embossed the blooms on watercolor paper and tinted them with "lemonade" watercolor from the Prima Pastel collection.  The sentiment from Better Together is perfect for a thank-you card I need to get in the mail.

Thanks, Verve Stamps, for this wonderful new set!

Thanks for your visit and have an awesome day!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

I so love combining sketch challenges with color challenges.  This week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch seemed to call for a collage of shapes, and I couldn't resist adding some blooms from Verve's Kindness Matters.  I had such fun swirling shades of pink watercolor and using that paper to stamp and cut the flowers.  The scalloped border and banner dies are from MFT and the scalloped rectangle is another Verve product.  I love to use it both as a frame and with the center piece inserted.  The sweet little sentiment was a Verve thank-you gift.

Thanks so much for visiting.  Can't wait to see what you create with the sketch!  Christine

Sunday Sketch Meets Verve Inspiration: Blessed are those who Mourn

Had so much fun  stamping and embossing a flower from Verve's Beautiful Things on black card stock and coloring with Prismacolor pencils.    The Sunday Sketch has a classy layout --- couldn't have gone wrong with it!

Thanks so much for taking a look,

Celebrating the Sixth Birthday of Jo's Scrap Shack

When Jo shared the exciting news about celebrating her sixth year of blogging at Jo's Scrap Shack, I began mentally paging through paper stacks, dies, and stamps to plan a special card. In my mind it was girly, floral, and layered with delicate cuts.  In reality, the card I needed was to celebrate the May birthday of one of my favorite guys ever--my dad.  I find masculine cards more challenging to make, but I am happy with the way this one turned out.   The circular image was cut right out of the middle of a sheet from a Tim Holtz stack....love doing that, but I end up with some strangely shaped scraps!

Thanks, Jo, for the privilege of being on the design team.  I started designing for Jo's Scrap Shack on  November 11, 2016,  and I was thrilled to be able to create a Veterans Day card for my first post.   I am constantly inspired by the team's creations and blessed by visiting the participants' blogs to see their entries each week.

Happy, Happy Birthday!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch 262

I framed the largest blossom from Verve's Kindness Matters with some Papertrey Ink Dies.  A layer of vellum softens the bold floral background cut with a Newton's Nook die.

I hope you will find time to play along with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch.  Even in its black and white digital form it seems to say spring.

Thanks for visiting,
Christine
