Butterflies at 4 Crafty Chicks

Take time to flutter by the 4 Crafty Chicks blog where this week's challenge is butterflies hosted by the very talented Tamie.  I am again excited and humbled by the opportunity to share there as a guest designer and hope that you will also have time to craft and post your creations at 4 Crafty Chicks.

I had lots of elements prepared to use on this card, but decided that the beautiful Verve sentiment and the chalked Memory Box butterfly made a powerful statement when left clean and simple.  A few scored lines ground the designs.

Praying your day is touched by God's goodness and grace,

Mother's Day Wishes

We started our Easter celebration early this morning and sent our son back to college before the
traffic and weather got too bad, so I was ready for a little stamping time.  It's fun to "shop" for inspiration photos and sketches, and I found a great pair.

To achieve the edge detail in the Freshly Made Sketch, I used the Little Inker Stitched Diagonal Die.  A boldly striped paper  from  Bo Bunny  and some pink blossoms stamped and cut with Verve's Joyful Blooms hint at the graphic photo with its soft pinkish reflections.  The glittery leaves were cut from a Verve die and give a nod to the shimmering rain in the photo.

Happy stamping,
Christine

The layers in the Mojo sketch are subtle with patterns in similar tones, giving a quiet look to this card in celebration of a young lady's confirmation.

The stamp is from Verve's Scripture Medley 1 and is framed with a scalloped square die from My Favorite Things.  The MFT Stitched Flower was in the left-over bin on my desk.

Mojo Monday: Springtime Thanks

Between the wonderful Mojo sketch and the inspiring photo board at Simon Says Stamp, a wonderful plan was in place.  When hubs said he needed a thank-you card, I was only too happy to oblige.  (There might have been one or three in my stash, but it's so much fun to create new ones!)

The other card ingredients include a Stitched and Scalloped Square die from My Favorite Things as well as their Stitched Flower dies.  The thanks word die is from Verve's Autumn Thanks.

Easter Chick

This darling chick is from North Coast Creations and her proper name is Easter Bonnet Chick.  I found the chicken wire embossing folder at Tuesday Morning (score!) and couldn't resist using it for the background.

The sketch is from Sunday Stamps and the soft plaid is from the Paper Garden.

Mojo 491--Happy Birthday

I love the big, happy sun and the sentiments in Verve's Rise Above set, and the Mojo sketch is going in my file of favorites.    I sponged some clouds on the Tall Tag from Reverse Confetti, but really debated about how the clouds actually look with the dots...maybe too busy?

Thank You Post/CASE the DT

The Postman brought happy mail today.  I was blessed with a flash prize from A Creative Journey with Melissa during the Spring Coffee Lovers Hop, and my new stamps arrived today.  Perfect timing for some Saturday crafting!  I used this fun set to create from A Creative Journey with Melissa and  CASEd Becca Cruger's amazing card on the CASE the DT Challenge at the Coffee Lover's Blog.

Many thanks are in order:
Thank you, Melissa, for the wonderful new stamps.  The images and sentiments ink up beautifully, and I love how you packaged the order.  I admire your commitment to important causes and your courage to follow your dream of creating your own stamp company.
Thanks, Amy and all the team at the Coffee Lovers Blog.  It was so much fun to play along with the Spring Hop to see others' cards.  The volume of creations was just mind-boggling.  Hope you are rested from this labor of crafty love.

Guest Design Post--- Stop and Smell the Flowers

I am so honored and excited to be sharing as a guest designer at 4 Crafty Chicks for the month of April!  This week, Leanne is the hostess  and the theme for this week's challenge is flowers. My card features the Stitched Flowers Die set from My Favorite things and a sentiment from Verve's Kindness Matters.

I hope you will take time to visit 4 Crafty Chicks for some inspiration and to play along.   May your day be sweetened by kindness and include a little time to stop and smell the flowers.

Blessings,
Christine

Mojo 491: With Sympathy

This card features this week's Mojo sketch (just love skewed panels), Verve's Joyful Blooms/Dies, Reverse Confetti's Tall Tags, and the smaller RC Wreath Die.  I set a goal that every so often I would make a sympathy card to have on hand as they can be hard to make.  I like how the soft Amour papers worked with the stamps and dies to create a gentle look.

S'More Mojo---Birthday Blssings

We have a couple of family birthdays this week.  First, I made a masculine card using the Mojo 490 sketch, and it came together so easily, I couldn't resist using it for the second card.

The fun loopy frame and the sentiment are from Verve's On Occasion set, one that sees lots of ink.  I picked up a whole package of Cosmo Cricket papers at Tuesday Morning several summers ago and am still enjoying them along with the coordinating chipboard elements!

"Depresso"

When I saw that the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop was coming, I ordered this set of stamps from YNS.  So happy to get them inky this evening. This card is actually going to school with me tomorrow.  My fourth graders and I are working through some fun lessons on puns, and I hope they 'get' this one!  I have some pretty wise students....the other day one little girl said with great expression, "Teachers NEED coffee."  How true...and how cute that would be on a stamp!

May Your Coffee Be Strong

I am so enjoying this beautiful day.  It's so much fun to squeeze in a little card making  in between Saturday errands and chores.   This is the second card made using the Rise and Shine digital set offered by Verve.

I guess this card has a "double shot" of espresso, because I also CASED a card on the Coffee Lovers Blog.

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

So excited that spring is beginning to show her face (even though Spring Break was last week, for me) and that it's time for the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

I had so much fun planning this card using a favorite stack of My Mind's Eye papers (I've bought it twice), MFT Stitched Flowers Dies, and Verve's Coffee Stamps and Dies.

"CASE of Coffee"

There is a fun CASE Challenge going on at the Coffee Loving Card Makers Blog.  The watercolor panel was cut with My Favorite Things Stitched Square and layered onto the matching MFT Scalloped Square.  I didn't have any fun gold and white striped paper, so I placed Verve's Rounded Scalloped Frame  on a scrap of white card stock and "eyeballed" the placement of four pieces of washi tape.  It cut beautifully  and left a nice interior piece for later use. The stamps are Verve's Coffee set which has matching dies.  I would definitely have to call that my favorite (stamped) coffee cup, especially because it is such fun to stamp on prints with tiny flowers.

Coffee-themed Tag

Karen Letchworth, a super-sweet and talented crafter, left a message about the the Paper Sweeties March Challenge which is coffee themed.  I love coffee and have several coffee-themed stamps and dies, so I was ready to go!  This project started out with a card sketch and some carefully selected scraps that, unfortunately, I "mis-cut".  (Is that a word?  I cut them incorrectly for sure, so my plan was toast.)

With the cup already made, I cut the pink panel into a tag and went crazy adding a wild mixture of dies and patterns from a Heidi Swapp stack that's is about used up. The result is not my typical project, but I think I like it and am sure it will adorn a "coffee gift".
