Atlantic Hearts Sketch 240: You were made for amazing things!

I took a few liberties with the sketch, but am happy with how the card turned out.  In real life, the colors of Verve's Kindness Matters florals are a much closer match to the background paper.  The printed papers are from a Bo Bunny collection called Juliet.  I was blessed to find
them at Tuesday Morning.  The flowers are backed with a cut from Reverse Confetti's Tall Tag Trio, and the stitched oval is by Littler Inker Designs.

Thanks so much for taking a look,
Christine

He will be our peace

Verve's Scripture Medley 5 arrived in my mailbox this afternoon, and I couldn't wait to get it inked up!  The papers are from a collection called Cedar Lane. The Tattered Florals die cuts and leaves were in the bowl of bits and pieces that stays on my desk, so the card came together quickly.

Autumn Blessings: Photo Folio Cover

This is a little incidental project---a decorative page to slip into a plastic folio of photos I am mailing to someone unable to attend our Thanksgiving festivities.  I love "real" photos and had some printed for snail mailing instead of just sending digital files.  There's something nice about holding a photo.  But...if you give a crafter a stack of photos, she has to do a little decorating.....

Thankful Tag

After whipping up a few Thanksgiving treats, I decided the packaging needed to be spruced up with tags.  The base for this tag is a Reverse Confetti die, and the images and sentiments come from these Verve sets:  Falling Leaves and On Occasion.  All the papers are scraps.  :)

Merry Christmas Trees

The inspiration photo shared at Inspired by All the Little Things is truly gorgeous!  I could never create this in the kitchen, but it was lots of fun to make a card with a sweet plaid and coordinating pastel solids from the Pixel Scrapper.  The stitched tree die is from L'il Inker Designs, and I can't seem to keep it off my crafting desk lately.

To make "the tiny forest" fit the card it was cut at 4.5 x 6 inches, but I do have envelopes that will fit, so all is well.  I am sure this clean sketch from Sunday Stamps will be used again.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch 238

Atlantic Hearts Sketch #238 was the perfect place to try a masked wreath, and my first choice of stamps was my brand new Verve collection, Autumn Leaves.  This set allows for some fun double stamping of leaves in three different sizes, and there are plenty of sweet sentiments for fall.  I need a birthday card, so I selected a sentiment from Cake and Candles.  As far as techniques go, the card was created using mask made by die cutting an oval from plain printer paper.  The mask and card stock were held in place in the MISTI using a few magnets.  (Masking paper is on my wish list, but this worked just fine.)  A little twine, a torn edge and three copper sequins finish off the card.

Inspired by all the Little Things---Tag

I couldn't resist incorporating the inspiration photo found at "Inspired by All the Little Things"  into my current crafting goal of creating Christmas tags.  This tag features Reverse Confetti's Gift Card Holder Tag and Wreath Dies.  The sweet little Christmas tree is from Little Inker Designs.  The silver card is pretty, but was a challenge to photograph....I think I lost that challenge, by the way.

Thanks for taking a peek,
Christine

Autumn Blessings

It's such fun to combine a great sketch with a wonderful color inspiration palette, and that's what is available right now if you choose to play along with the Verve November Sketch and this week's Sunday Stamps Inspiration Photo Challenge.

After the design decisions were made by the challenge blogs, I selected two Verve sets:  Autumn Blessings and Falling Leaves for the images and sentiment.  The papers are called Harvest Pie, available from Pixel Scrapper, and the layers are cut with Little Inker Stitched Rectangles and Reverse Confetti Lacy Scalloped Rectangles.

Thanks for visiting.  Enjoy the beauty of fall.

Happy Friday!  It's time for another Fun Friday Challenge at Jo's Scrap Shack where the theme is always Anything Goes.  The design team is designs by The Cutting Cafe, and I received the Dimensional Christmas Ornament cutting file for my project.  To share a crafting tip, I keep a package of inexpensive white card stock available.  It comes in handy for learning materials for my classroom and is great for "practice" projects.  The white ornament is shown below with a simple tulle bow.  It looks pretty on  a kraft bag which I often use to package baked goods for Christmas.  As I made my "practice" ornament, the idea of making a pumpkin entered my mind, and this two-inch pumpkin is just adorable.  I finished it off with a strip of paper curled with my snips and a die cut leaf.  What a versatile file, and the photo tutorial included was a big help!

Simon Says Stamp: Snow White

I absolutely fell in love with Teresa Kline's Design Team Project for this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge.  She added pastel holly leaves and berries to a beautiful shimmering card base, and the effect is gorgeous.  I CASED her project, creating a tag with layers of die cut vellum, and a panel embossed with a double wedding ring pattern (thinking warm winter quilt).  The wreath is cut from  Reverse Confetti die, and the teeny, tiny absolutely adorable  holly die is a Little Inker's product.

Crafting tip:  paint sample chips are perfect for tiny dies....the pink holly berries are cut from one

Most Fabulous Birthday Ever

This card stock collection called Birthday Wishes features lots of texture, gloss, and glitter.  It was fun to select layers for this month's Verve sketch.  I wanted some of the graphics on the yellow panel to show, so I changed the focal shape to a circle, which fit the sentiment  (from Better Together) well.  Since a lot of  the pretty plaid was covered, I layered a couple of arrows cut with a Verve die to fill the blank space and to give the plaid a chance to come forward.

A little time to create a bright, happy card was just what I needed this evening!  So thankful for that time.

Christine

Newton's Nook Color Challenge

The Inky Paws Challenge has such a great inspiration photo and color combination.  I found these pretty papers at the Pixel Scrapper and colored Newton's Happy Mail to match for a fun Christmas Card.  I'll add a sentiment later after deciding just how I want to use the card.

Holly Jolly Christmas

Must say that I bake like crazy, decorate the whole house, listen to Christmas tunes almost 24/7 during between Thanksgiving and Christmas....but do holiday crafting?  Not so much.  I need to make that a bigger priority.  It was such fun to create a simple tag using Reverse Confetti's Gift Card Tag Holder, Verve's Jolly Jingles, and Little Inker's Holly Jolly dies.

So thankful for a little time to rest and craft.  Happy Sunday,
Christine

November VLV---Autumn Blessings

If you haven't seen the new VLV sketch and designers' samples, stop by for some inspiration!  The sketch is super easy to follow, as measurements have been added.  That, however, didn't stop me from making a crafting mistake.  I glued down the floral panel only to realize that the horizontal strip was still lying on my desk.  Oops!  I still enjoyed using the new Autumn Leaves and matching dies with a pretty stack of paper called Cedar Lane.

Christing

AHSC 236: Happy Birthday

This is take two on my card using this sketch.  The first card was fall themed, featuring circular digital stamps.  I colored the images, fussy cut them, and created a glue smudge that only got worse when I tried to remove it with a pick up square. Should have waited for it to dry and maybe the printer ink would not have smudged.  Lesson learned.

This card features a kraft and black panel cut from a stack recently purchased at a great sale price, a Tilth Floral die which was cut from silver poster board, and the layered flowers were attached with a brad.  The sentiment is from one of my beloved Verve sets:  Poppy Birthday.

Thanks for visiting.  Hope your crafting adventures include glue that stays in its proper place.
