AHSC----Wishing you the best day ever!

The Atlantic Hearts Sketch and two stamp sets from Verve (Wishing You and Kindness Matters) form the backbone of this card made from a new stack of florals from Hobby Lobby.  Love that it could be a birthday card or an "everyday" card.

Thanks for taking a look,
Christine

Thank You for Making Such a Huge Effort

CAS-ology is celebrating its fifth birthday with a balloon blog hop.  There are so many great CAS cards featuring balloons....what a treat for the eyes and a crafting inspiration.

My card includes Adorable Elephants by My Favorite Things.....the sentiments in this set meet a lot of needs, and I need a thank you card.  I am working on CAS....my usual style is clean and layered with a mix of patterns and colors, so CAS is a challenge for me!

Thank you for stopping by,
Christine

A Flurry of Kind Winter Wishes

Summer vacations are wonderful, and I have so enjoyed having more time to craft.  It's been a particular pleasure to participate in the Cards for Little Hearts drive.   All the details can be found here on Christina Hor's blog.

The SSS Kate snowflake  was cut from silver poster board and layered over a Tilth Floral die.   The sweet sentiment was created by Christina Hor.  (Thank you, Christina!)

Kind Winter Wishes

The Cards for Little Hearts drive ends in exactly one month, so there is plenty of time to make a few cards for children with congenital heart disease.  All the details can be found here on Christina Hor's blog.

It is tricky to photograph shiny things, so here are some details the photo may not show clearly.  The SSS Kate snowflake dies are cut from silver poster board, the background paper by Just Peachy Designs features delicate, lacy snowflakes, and the sweet sentiment was created by Christina Hor.  (Thank you, Christina!)

Peace on Earth

The Paper Craft Crew has a fun new sketch available, so and I combined Verve's Peace on Earth with some glittery stars cut with Paper Smooches Stars die.  The die is lots of fun in that some of the stars nest.  I pulled the end of the banner die through a layer of the star.  (It looks much better in real life than the photo shows.  I am always challenged with photos of sparkly things.)  I also decided to play along at The Challenge which calls for black, white, and a color of choice.      (I'll probably be back to make a black, white, and pink card, too)

Bugaboo Christmas in July

Please take a minute to visit Christina Hor's blog to read all about The Cards for Little Hearts drive.  You will be delighted to see Christina's wonderful work and to learn about how she collects winter cards to encourage children hospitalized for congenital heart difficulties.

The Bugaboo Christmas in July Challenge has kept my Cards for Little Hearts inspired:  Today's challenge is to use the colors shown in the inspiration photo.  (I'd really love to have a girly pink tree, but that wouldn't be acceptable to the wonderful guys in my family.  :)

Bugaboo Christmas in July: Photo Inspiration

The Bugaboo Christmas in July Challenge is working well with my desire to create a variety of cards for Christina Hor's drive to collect winter greetings for children hospitalized due to heart problems.  You can read all about it on Christina's blog.

I was inspired by the bright colors of Santa's golf umbrella and used a Bugaboo tag as the central element, masking off the "to" and "from" in Word.  The sentiment is by Hannelie Besler.  Hope the bright colors and the smiling snowman will brighten a child's day.

Bugaboo Christmas in July: Bingo

My "Bugaboo Bingo" is a diagonal constisting of  pink, white, and gold; a Bugaboo image; and snowflake embossing.  I intended to add a gold layer or banner, but the gold and white washi tape frame was lying in my scrap bowl, and I decided it was a cute way to set off the image.  Unfortunately, there is a lot of glare in the photo.

Bugaboo Christmas in July

Handmade tags add such a nice touch to gifts of all kinds, and I enjoyed making this one.  It features a Bugaboo Penguin, and the tag pieces are cut from these Reverse Confetti dies:  Gift Card Holder Tag and Hang Ups.  I stayed away from red and green and hope that my shades of blue will be considered non-traditional hues.

You can read all about Christina Hor's Cards for Little Hearts drive right here on her beautiful blog.  I have had such fun creating cards for the drive, and the Bugaboo Christmas in July event works hand in hand with that project.  Today, I am playing along with the "Sparkle and Shine" challenge and have added an edger die cut from shiny silver poster board.  The image is a Bugaboo Digital Stamp, and the cheerful plaid is from Harper Finch.

Thanks a latte, Joy Clair!

During the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, I was blessed to receive Joy Clair's blog candy.  I ordered this set of coffee  stamps and also had a personalized stamp made to use on the backs of cards.  Both are awesome.  Thanks a latte to the folks at Joy Clair and to Kerry Urbatch for her fun Sunday Sip and Share posts on the CLC blog.  Love this sketch and all of Kerry's creative ideas for CAS cards!

Sketch meets Inspiration Photo: Happy Birthday

Love combining a sketch with an inspiration photo for lots of crafty fun.  Using MFT's Stitched Squares and Verve's Poppy Birthday made this card come together very quickly.  The smaller squares were cut from a scrap of paper watercolored with Prima's Pastel Dreams.  The cluster of poppies hides the square that's really a rectangle due to the fact that my scrap strip was a little too small for four squares.  I am linking to the challenges listed below

Jesus in my Heart and Coffee in my Hand

What fun to play with some new Verve Stamps!  This set is called Fill My Cup.  In an effort to keep the front of the card clean and layered, I added a heart and one of the mugs to the inside.

A Sketch from The Challenge

I love sketch challenges!  It is such fun to see the different looks created from the same basic layout.  This sketch was provided by The Challenge and utilizes Verve's Joyful Blooms and a new (to me) Recollections collection of papers in shades of mint and pink with pretty gold metallic accents.  The gold card stock used for layering is embossed (it came that way).  Next time, I will emboss a scrap and see if a finer pattern will cover a larger one.  Crafting is always a learning experience.

One-Layer Card for Tuesday Throwdown

The Tuesday Throwdown Challenge is to create a one-layer card.  My last card included a base, three papers, and dies from five different sets.  I am not sure I've made many one-layer cards before!  I have enjoyed using Reverse Confetti's Rose Garden lately---but with the matching dies.  I did a lot of practicing on scraps and can see some blemishes in this card, but it was truly fun to try something new!

I am also entering another new-to-me challenge---the Stamplorations July Challenge has the theme of warm colors which are present in the florals.

CAS(E) this Sketch --Happy Holidays

It was lots of fun to see the designers samples and to view entries in the link up at CASE this Sketch. My card has a holiday theme as I am currently making holiday greetings for the Cards for Little Hearts Drive.  I tried several rectangles in my die stash and found good proportions from this Papertrey set.  The sentiment is from Verve's Jolly Jingles, and snowflake die is a Simon Says Stamp exclusive.
