Word of Your Unfailing Love

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.  This sweet scripture is a great prayer at bedtime!

The colorful panel was creating by heat embossing a plaid stamp in clear embossing powder and blending on a rainbow of PTI dye inks.  The layered blossom is from Into the Blooms II.  The panel left just the right space for the scripture from Verve.

Dainty Delivery: Happy Birthday

Dainty Delivery is a a truly delicate and pretty frame, and embossing it allows its beauty to be featured on a card without such time applying glue to the tiny buds and stems.  The center panel is from an Echo Park collection, and it's topped with a bloom from Gran's Garden and a Delicates die cut...both from Papertrey Ink.

Thanks ever so much for visiting,

Christine

Thanks for being so Kind

This card includes some of my favorite pretties:  Effortless Beauties, Tin Stitched, and Delicates along with a fun new crafting treasure, a recently won CAS-ual Friday stencil.  I plan to drop this card in the mail as a thank you to Michelle for her kind sponsorship of the Word Art Wednesday challenge.

Thankful for You

After viewing a crafting video including Dried Marigold Distress Oxide ink, I had to add that color to my collection of oxides.   Dried Marigold, Spun Sugar, and Lemonade Ice were blended onto a small panel of Bristol Smooth card stock and stamped with a retired Verve set.  Before you start feeling sad that this sweet set is retired, there is great news:  Julee Tillman is now illustrating for Sweet-N-Sassy stamps and this set has been revamped and can be purchased here as "Fall Breeze".  I am thrilled to know Julee is illustrating again!

The layers include a warm yellow buffalo plaid by Sunny Studios, Tin Stitched by PTI, and Fun Frames---also by PTI.  The sequins are from two collections by Kat Scrappiness.  I like the way they coordinate with the pastel version of autumn leaves.

Christine

Celebrate your Day

One of my favorite crafting experiences begins with removing the seal from a brand new pad of 6 x 6 card stock.  There is nothing quite like choosing my most favorite sheets from the entire collection to combine for a special card.  This Echo Park collection is called Flora No. 4, and I love the delicate patterns and soft colors.

The central panel is topped with a heart doily die by Simon Says stamp, and I tucked half of a Papertrey Ink Doily behind it.  A 'junk bow' made from scraps of lace, ribbon, and twine is hot glued above the sentiment.

Thanks so much for taking a peek,

Christine

A Loving Hello

The Inky Paws inspiration colors of aqua, green, and yellow are a refreshing combination.

I created the background panel of this card by heat embossing a plaid background stamp in clear EP and blending Aqua Mist and New Leaf dye inks with brushes.  I used a trick recommended by Cathy Zielske to polish up the embossed lines. She adds a drop of stamp cleaner to a cloth and clears away the ink that may have beaded on the embossing.  A light misting of water created some subtle spotting.

The focal image from Newton's Nook was trimmed with a banner die and was topped with a 'junk bow' created from scraps of ribbon and lace.

Christine

Delicate Primrose Thank You

The Mod Squad Challenge is one I frequently enjoy, and I am thrilled that they have chosen to honor their kind sponsors with  a month of thanks.  I mailed a card to Gina K this morning in appreciation of her sponsorship of Mod Squad and also just to say thank you for the time she spends creating her wonderful videos.  They kept me company during the past school year on days I was absolutely exhausted from teaching in-person and virtually.  It was uplifting to view the lesson and "to have some company" when too tired to craft myself.

This card was created with Altenew's Delicate Primrose stamp and die set.  The leafy frame is also an Altenew die.

Christine

Sunflowers and Stripes

It's always fun to ink up my Newton's Nook stamps, and I love this cluster of sunflowers.  I added a stenciled striped background in keeping with the theme.  There is a bit of a color gradient from the left edge to the right edge, but the central oval covers some of that.  I'll just call that a practice experience and do  better next time!

Happy Birthday with Effortless Beauties

After creating a card recently, I was reminded of how pretty a blue and purple combination is. This card began with a panel stamped with the stems and leaves from Papertrey Ink's  Effortless Beauties.  The larger focal blooms are from the same set.  A few rain stones are included for accent and the sentiment is stamped on one of the Tiny Tags dies, also from PTI.

He has made everything beautiful in its time

PTI has a wonderful series of lessons and challenges on using Raindrop embellishments.  I added a few to the foliage on this mini bouquet from Gran's Garden which is stamped in Summer Rain and Blueberry Sky.  The layers are Tin Stitched Border Bling and a panel of Bitty Big plaid also in Spring Rain.

A basket of blooms

The newest Great Cover Up challenge on the PaperTrey Ink blog is not to be missed!  Kavya shares a couple of amazingly creative cards that focus on combining different sets of stamps and dies.  She outdid herself is all that I can say!

I don't think my project has the wow factor of Kavya's, but I do like the basket from PTI's Delightful Bunch filled with flowers from the Wreath Favor Box Collection.  As I was fiddling with layers, I was delighted to find that the larger of the Fun Frames (just got them!) fits perfectly in the center of the Tin Stitched cover die!

Camp Create: Delightful Die Cutting

The sample card shared for the final day of Camp Create is an absolutely charming wreath created with leafy stems.  I love wreaths and one of my favorite MFT sets is the recently re-released Lily Die-Namics.  It is such a pleasure to cut the pretty blooms from white card stock and to bring them to life in a variety of ink-blended shades.

I just received a pair of dainty frame dies from Papertrey Ink and was bound and determined to add one to a card.  Here, the smaller of the two is used to frame the thank you sentiment.  (I WILL remember to post this on Darnell's wonderful NBUS (Never Before Used Stuff) blog since this is its premiere appearance.)

I will close with one final shout-out to the sweet designers for the Mod Squad Challenge.  They have declared this month to be a month of thanks.  The challenges are/will be to create thank you cards and to send them to the sponsors.  What a great idea---and something our world needs right now.

Thank you for visiting,

Christine

Camp Create: Background Bonanza

Believe it or not, my husband and my son had car trouble the same week, so they have been sharing my car.  Actually, I am quite thankful that neither problem caused an accident or injury, and I am making the best of things by using my at-home time to create.

I received Creative Corners accessories for the MISTI as a gift, and I'd not really tried them out until working on this card.  I used the triangular ruler and the corner inserts to repeat the sentiment for use as a background.  Really easy....as long as I kept the stamp clean and dry in order to reposition.  I never tire of using MFT's Adorable Elephants, and the cards always seem well-received, so it's nice to have another for my stash.

Camp Create: Emboss Resist

After trimming down an A2 panel, sentiments from MFT's Birthday Greetings were arranged and embossed in white powder. Aqua Mist ink was blended over the panel, and the sentiments were burnished with a paper towel.   Some banners and a bow camouflage an EP smear and add a simple accent to the CAS design.

Christine

Camp Create: Watercolor

I have s'more cards to make if I am to finish the fun Camp Create Challenges.  This is for Day Two:  Wonderful Watercolor.  I tinted the Pure Innocence Happy Birthday to You images with watercolors and a water brush, deciding to create a tag.  I envision a big "junk bow" to top it off, but I have no purple ribbon at the moment.....someday.....

Christine
