Blessings Today and Always

The Great Cover-Up challenge on the Ink to Paper Blog features a fun slimline card with a great rainbow element.  I used on e of the floral stamps from the Wreath Favor Box set to create a rainbow in Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Orange Zest, Harvest Gold, Mint Julep, Aqua Mist Hawaiian Shores, Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Lilac Grace, Plum Pudding, and Autumn Rain.  I was almost finished with the card when I bobbled the ink pad and it landed on my card leaving a smudge.  Covered it with a flat sliver sequin.  Bonus points for the Great Cover-Up??

God's Grace is Sufficient

Just sharing a card to be donated to a Christian ministry.  Please don't miss the truth of this scripture.  God's grace is always enough no matter our struggle!

Matthew 28:6 for Word Art Wednesday

This verse expresses the good news the angel shared with Mary Magdalene and the other Mary visited Jesus's tomb.  They went away filled with joy and encountered Jesus Himself!  Jesus's resurrection represents so much:  His love, the opportunity to be reconciled with God, peace for today, and hope for eternity.

This sweet scripture is available at Word Art Wednesday for download and use in all kinds of projects.  Please join us!

Blessings,

Christine

Happy Easter with GSD

I love watercoloring these darling little bunnies, and I am going to do my best to "hide" this card in all the places where it might be found in their Easter egg hunt.  You can read all about it on the GSD blog.

Its first hiding place is in the GSD Share Your Designs Challenge.

Happy hiding and hunting,

Christine

Spring Bouquet: Roses and Dahlias

There's no challenge or occasion inspiring this card.  I just want to write a special note to a couple who has been a true blessing to me over the years.  I chose some of my favorite colors and dies to create a card with a soft look.  It was so much fun to create, and I am excited about getting it into the mail.

Happy Easter

Papertrey Ink's current 'What do I do with this?' challenge is all about glitter and shows some fun ways to apply it to cards.  I am enjoying the new Easter basket dies. This time, I cut all the pieces from watercolor paper, inked everything but the basket base, and applied a mist of water.  After an all-over coat of glue, the bow and eggs were treated to an application of very fine glitter.  It creates a nice sparkly effect that the photo doesn't capture.

Leviticus 17:11 for WAW

Our pastor is currently preaching through Leviticus, and though the book is difficult at times, It is easy to see the foreshadowing of the work of Jesus in the New Testament.  Because of this, I wanted to feature both the scripture and the cross on the card.  The modified "joy fold" allows a bit of the lily-adorned cross to show, being fully revealed when the card is opened.

I hope you will visit Word Art Wednesday where you can download the scripture, read a related devotion, and have a chance at a wonderful prize just for playing along.

Blessings,

Christine

Blooms With Love

Just a quick post to share a card created for Melissas challenge on the Papertrey Ink Blog.  I used Into the Blooms II dies and some of my favorite PTI pastel inks and mounted everything over the Blooming Hearts cover plate.

Refuge and Strength

Psalm 46 is a great one to pray, and I have been using it to guide my prayers for Ukraine.  The current Mod Squad challenge is to use only the colors of the Ukrainian flag, and I had to include this scripture.  (It's retired -- from Verve.)

In following with the Papertrey Ink challenge, the card has multiple patterned papers.  They are from the Bitty Big collection in Harvest Gold and Spring Rain. The pretty Dahlia dies have been converted to a sunflower using Summer Sunrise ink.

Praying for Ukraine,

Christine

Happy Easter

The 'What do I do with this?' challenge on the PTI blog is to use vellum as a card feature.  In this case, I inserted vellum behind the frame in order to soften the patterned paper just a bit.  All the pieces from the Spring Carrots die set were cut from watercolor paper and inked with a blender brush.  I used combinations of very light Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise, and Orange Zest along with Green Parakeet.  The the little bunny was cut from felt using the Best Bunnies die set.  I don't have experience stamping on felt, so the eyes were added with the Micron pen I use in my Bible.  The hardest part of this card was deciding where to add the sentiment.  The carrot made a good place, but the one time I DIDN'T use my MISTI the sentiment came out kind of light and I was afraid of 'free-hand' stamping it a second time.

Basket of Blooms

I absolutely love Papertrey's new Weave A Basket Die set  The bow is just the most darling thing, and the basket was a breeze to weave.  I decided to fill it with flowers from the Wreath Favor Box set to meet Shauna's challenge to create a spring floral card.  I didn't include a sentiment,  because I am going to write a no-occasion-note inside.

Happy Birthday Peonies

The current---and almost over----Papertrey Ink challenge is to create a birthday card with lots of layers.  Many of my favorite PTI products are piled on this card.  The papers are Bitty Big in Harvest Gold and Spring Rain.  The first layer was pierced with the Tin Stitched die.  It's followed by the Large Scallop Stacker, a panel of Spring Rain, Delicates die, and Into the Blooms Peonies in Spring Rain and Blueberry Sky.  A fun card to make!

Precious in the Sight of the Lord for WAW

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.  Psalm 116:15

We have  recently walked through the passing of three family members in close secession.  Such experiences are bittersweet as we say goodbye, since we know that our loved ones are not lost but  are in the presence of the Lord.  Scriptures like this one can bring great comfort.  God treasures the homecoming of his children, and He comforts those who mourn.

This scripture is available for download at Word Art Wednesday and there is a related devotion to encourage.  Please stop by and play along.

Serenity

Playing along with the latest Papertrey Ink Challenge which is to use clear embossing powder.  After stamping and die cutting the Brushed Birds, each was gently pressed into Versamark ink and sprinkled with clear embossing powder.  The effect is really pretty, but the photo doesn't do it justice.  The colors deepened just a bit, and the surface has a light texture and fabulous sheen.  This technique deserves a place in every crafter's bag of tricks.

Praying that we would all trust in The Prince of Peace for true inner calm during these times and asking that God would especially bless those in Ukraine.

Christine
