Be Kind (For Everyone is Fighting a Hard Battle)

This card includes a sentiment from Verve's Kindness Matters and Petals and Blooms papers cut with Reverse Confetti's Lacy Scallop Frames.
The VLV sketch made it fun and easy to assemble.

I am going to keep this project on display in my craft room as a reminder.  We've been home only two days after evacuating due to Hurricane Harvey.  The outer bands of the storm brought us over two feet of rain, but we were spared damaging winds.  Our home site was carefully selected after visiting the property many times following hard rains, so we were not surprised that so much rain ran off nicely leaving us safe and free from standing water.  Then, the rivers began to fill with flood waters draining from the north and we were left with but one means of evacuation.  We left our home with important papers, photos, and a few days' worth of clothing as the river crept into yards just across the street.  We returned to find our home unscathed, but many neighbors have several feet of water in their homes.  My hands and heart are ready to help when the waters recede, and I pray for wisdom and kindness and the ability to speak words of encouragement.

In our fearful days of evacuation, God lavished His grace upon us in sweet and humbling ways that I will forever treasure in my heart.  If you are still reading this long and personal post, please pray for the little children who will return to my classroom on Monday.  I hope to communicate God's love to them in a real way.

Blessings,
Christine

Very pretty card. And you are right, we never know what people are going through when our paths cross. Will pray for the children and for you. That God will give you his wisdom and the right words to speak.

Such a beautiful and meaningful card, Christine. What a traumatic few days that must have been. So glad to hear your house was spared and you'll be able to minister to those around you as the waters recede. <3
