Stitched Flowers----Happy Birthday

I enjoy combining sketch challenges with color challenges and find that the results are often so pleasing!  The current MFT sketch is clean and versatile, and the Color Throwdown palette is cheery and refreshing.

After sifting through scraps to match the color cues, MFT's Stitched flowers were cut in some tiny patterned pieces that I was so glad to have saved!

Camp Create Shaker Card: Stitched Flowers Bouquet

I enjoy the lessons and challenges for MFT's annual Camp Create.  Today's video contains excellent instructions for creating a shaker card, and this is my first.  The bouquet features MFT's stitched flowers 'arranged' in a shaker jar.  I should have added double layers of foam tape to make the shaker well a little deeper, but otherwise the process went very smoothly!

Happy Birthday with Into the Blooms

I am so thankful that today allowed for some crafting time as it's been busy lately.  Playing along with PTI Challenge to use 'raindrops' to adorn a card. The base of my card was created with Bitty Big scraps in Summer Rain.  The next layer is a Shape Shifters Oval, and the flowers are from Into the Blooms II.  The flowers were cut from white card stock and inked in Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Green Parakeet, and New Leaf.  All the flowers were assembled with foam tape between the layers, so there is lots of dimension.

Watercolor Butterfly

There's yet another fun challenge on the PTI blog---The Great Cover Up plan is to use a watercolor background.  The idea for this card came from a beauty by Korin  (of Sweet-N-Sassy) using a jewel-like combination of blue and purple with the fun background stamps added for interest. It made a great resting place for the big PTI butterfly embossed in gold glitter and tinted with more blues and purples.

Because He bends down to listen....I will pray

Shauna shares another gorgeous card on the PTI blog this week, challenging us to create a tropical card.  This prompted me to pull out Flourishing Florals and some bright inks.  Of all the hibiscus I stamped, I liked the orange ones best as they remind me of the ones that bloom outside the kitchen window.  (When my son was little, we watched for humming birds "in the high biscuits", as he called them.)

The Tin Stitched border brings focus to the sweet scripture by Verve.

Psalm 31:7 MemoryDex

This scripture brings such a tender message about God's care for us.  I love the phrasing that He SEES my trouble, but He CARES about the anguish of my soul.  Now that this dear word has been memorized, it's time for it to have a spot in my MemoryDex.

The pretty lilies are MFT Die-Namics cut from white and inked in shades of pink and green.  The accent words are cut from a Sween-N-Sassy alphabet set.  And yes....the scripture is a little blurry because my printer has outlasted its drivers, I think.

Thanks so much for taking a look....I hope the scripture was a blessing to you.

Wishing you a happy birthday

The PTI blog has another fun instructional video and associated challenge.  The border of this card was created according to the video:  liberally dampen a watercolor panel, dab inks directly from the pads, and add lots more water to blend.  After using the Tin Stitch border die, I added a center panel and some Effortless Beauties blooms.  It was a quick and easy technique!
