Inspired By Vintage Linens--Birthday Wishes

I love vintage linens, and this photo is SO gorgeous!  The envelope fold on the pillow called for Reverse Confetti Edgers Dies and RC's Rose Garden made the perfect bouquet.  The beautiful greeting is from Verve.

So grateful for the inspiration and for your visit,
Christine

MFT Summer School---Symmetry

Today's lesson from MFT's Summer School is Symmetry.  Yep!  Sounds  like geometry, and it was hard for a gal who was born without the "make things straight chromosome".   This card has lots of fun layers and lots of products:
PTI Mix and Mat Heart Die
Reverse Confetti Banner in Bloom
Verve Poppy Birthday

MFT Summer School: Complementary Colors

Yesterday's MFT lesson was on complementary colors, so I made a set of four tags using MFT's Stitched Flowers and Verve's Peace on Earth.  There will be more as I cut lots of stitched flowers from some red and green scraps.  Fun to anticipate.

Thanks for stopping by,
Christine

MFT Summer School Lesson: Repetition

Stamped and colored about six of MFT's Adorable Elephants on Canson Smooth Bristol paper to practice using my new Arteza Real Brush Markers .  I am starting to get the feel of them, but the paint seems to sit on top of the paper and take a while to dry.  Some of the shading "puddled" on the edges despite using a barely damp water brush.  He still looks pretty cute and has a nice sparkle from the Wink of Stella brushed over the top of the image.

I used the sentiment for the principle of repetition, and since I didn't get the "chromosome that aligns things straight", so I tilted the panel for camouflage purposes.  Don't believe that I have repeated a sentiment before, but it's a nice technique.

Enjoying a very rainy Fourth of July in my craft room.  Thanks for visiting,
Christine

Sunday Stamps Sketch-Wishing you a Happy Birthday

The toughest thing about making this card was waiting for my Arteza Real Brush Markers to be delivered and making a Hobby Lobby run for Canson Smooth Bristol paper.  Once the supplies were all collected, I stamped a sheet of blooms from Verve's Beautiful Kindness and started coloring.  There's a learning curve, but I love them.  I die cut the three best ones, scattered them on white card stock and die cut with a MFT stitched square die.  I couldn't resist using the other part of a flower when die cutting the banner!  The sentiment is from Verve's Poppy Birthday.

Thanks, Sunday Stamps, for the great sketch!

Thanks so much for taking a peek.....and if you are interested in the Arteza markers, they are on sale now, and I found a coupon code for an additional twenty percent off.  Also, shipping was free, and they arrived in two days!  And one more bit of info:  Some of the negatives about the markers were that they lacked names and colors on the pens.  Mine are all numbered, labeled, and have a colored end that is pretty close to the ink color!

Have a blessed July Fourth,
Christine

MFT Summer School: Primary Colors

Today's MFT Summer School lesson is on using primary colors.  In the video, Stephanie pointed out that there are many shades of red, yellow, and blue.  I thought it would be fun to use whimsical prints in the usual brights, but couldn't find all three in the styles I wanted.  I came across these jewel tones in a stack and cut them with MFT's Stitched Flowers, layering over a PTI cover plate and adding a sentiment from Verve's On Occasion.

Christine

MFT Summer School: White Space

MFT's Stamp School started yesterday, and there's a great video on designing with white space for a CAS look.  My card features a gold frame cut from a MFT doily and stamps from Verve's Beautiful Things.  It was completed with a scattering of aqua sequins.
