I love you (calyptus)

Just playing with my new Christmas goodies.  Love the cute koala from Lawn Fawn and its punny sentiment.

A little koala trivia from the classroom:  Koalas  primarily eat eucalyptus leaves (which are toxic to most animals) and get all their hydration from the leaves.  They are able to avoid predators since they do not visit water sources such as ponds or streams.

AHSC 296: JOY!

Happy Wednesday!  Today is the day the the AHSC design team members share their interpretations of Michelle's sketches.  The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge is set up in such a fun way:  a new sketch is posted each Monday, and design team inspiration is show on Wednesday.  That way, participants can choose to play either before or after being influenced by the DT's interpretations of the sketch.  Such fun!  Hope you will visit the AHSC Blog and play along!

I admire the cute die cut sets that feature the word "JOY" with such clever shapes provided to replace the "O" in the center.  When I saw this week's sketch, I wanted to feature a big sentiment and decided to see what I had in my stash that might work.  The letters are from a Sizzix alphabet die set that I use for scrapbook titles, the central wreath is the smaller of a set of two from Reverse Confetti, and the bow was meant to adorn a Little Inker Designs Easter Bunny.  Not too bad for found items.

Mojo Monday: Birthday Wishes

We have a close-to-Christmas family birthday, and I wanted to make a card.  Hooray for Mojo Monday!  The central panel was created using a gingham background stamp.  Despite using the Misti, I haven't worked out how to get a perfect image, so there is a bit of a distressed look to the checks.  The Stitched Flowers were left over from a set of cards made this fall and were perfect for the sketch.  The sentiment and layered banners are retired Verve products.

Amazing Birthday

Just sharing a little birthday card I made to take a new RC die out for a spin.  I love the new Reverse Confetti Grid Stitched Tag and used it wit a scattering of scraps from an October Afternoon stack and a beloved Verve sentiment.

Celebrate Your Day

In the midst of wrapping Christmas gifts, I make sure to have something special for a family member whose birthday is right after Christmas.  That includes being certain NOT to wrap it in red and green paper.  The merchant was kind enough to drop the gift in a little kraft bag with some vibrant purple tissue.  I dressed it up with a delicate floral tag featuring Reverse Confetti's Build a Bunch and a sweet Verve sentiment.

Happy Holidays

What a blessing the weekend was!  I enjoyed shopping, baking, and decorating and feel so sure that God truly multiplied my time.  Everything was such a pleasure, and there was even a while to make a few cards.  This layout is a CASE of a card made some time ago.  It works nicely with the small images and script-y sentiments from Lawn Fawn.

Coffee Lovers Hop: Warm Wishes

My Christmas cards are in the mail, but we still need a few for hand-delivered gifts and for gift cards.  For this one, I used a Lawn Fawn set and CASED one of my own cards and changed the patterned papers.  I think I like it just as well in red as in green.

My card features PTI dies and a retired Verve set that will always remain a favorite.  The bold Christmas print from Paper Studio did most of the design work for this one.
