Bee Mine
Isn't the Sunday Stamps palette beautiful? It's perfect inspiration for one of my last few Valentines. The pink papers are from an aptly named collection called "Bee Mine" and the cute little dies just arrived in my mailbox from Paper Smooches. I loved insetting the wings and stripes with shiny golden poster posterboard.
Thanks so much for visiting,
Christine

AHSC 248: A one-layer card
For Christmas, I was given a tech gadget that didn't play nicely with the existing gadget it was supposed to enhance. The giver kindly returned it and offered to take me on a shopping spree to a newly discovered stamp store. We hit a half-off sale and I got several sets of stamps, two dies, and two 6 x 6 pads of paper. I honestly believe this is the most "new stamping stuff" I've had at once, and it's so much fun to play with my new goodies.
I really wanted to use this set by Dare 2 Be Artzy, and made a rare (for me) one layer card by using the coffee beans as a frame and coloring in that happy little mug with pencils.
Thanks so much for looking,
Christine

Hippo Birdie to You
A co-worker has a birthday later this week, and it brought a smile to pull out this cute set from Lawn Fawn in preparation for our celebration. The cute little images cut so nicely with the matching dies and can be quickly colored with pencils. The background was created using distress inks. The sky was sponged and the grass color was applied with a big make up brush.

Time Out Challenge: Sprinkle Each Day with Kindness
The new Time Out Challenge is a word challenge with inspiration coming from the quote: Each day is a gift. Open it. Celebrate it. Enjoy it.
So....in between school and dinner preparation, I splashed some Prima Pastel Dreams Watercolor Confections on a bit of watercolor paper and set it aside to dry. The sentiment from Verve's Kindness Matters gives my interpretation of the quote. The choice to be kind makes not only our days but our world a better place! A few clear sequins, some crochet cotton tied into a bow, and a pretty scalloped base finish this simple card.
Thank you for taking time to visit,
Christine

VLV and Inspired By: The One my Soul Loves
Both the January Verve Sketch and the Inspired By Challenge such great elements! What fun to mix and match delicate colors, textures, and shapes to imitate the sweet loveliness of that batch of cookies! The texture of the icing, soft pinks and greens, and heart shapes inspired my card.
The card recipe includes:
Sentiment from Verve's More than Love
Verve's Rounded Scalloped Frame
SSS Heart Doily
Downton Abbey Frame Die
Darice Basket Weave Embossing Folder
Thanks so much for taking a look! Making this card was such fun!

VLV: Love with Actions and in Truth
A very sweet, dedicated teaching colleague was just recognized by a community service organization for her contributions, and I wanted to make a card suitable for the occasion. I fully expected to find a "just right" sentiment among my Verve scriptures and it was waiting in Scripture Medley Five. My friend's dedicated career is nearing forty years in length, and in all the time I've worded with her, she has shown herself first to be dedicated to God. Her commitment to Him has been a continued blessing to students and their families and to other teachers.

Sunday Stamps: Be Mine
It seems like my crafting time has either been feast or famine lately. With a second weather day, I am enjoying plenty of time to do as I please, and Valentines are on the agenda.
This one is loosely based on the Sunday Stamps sketch....there are three vertical elements on the left...sort of...and a shape to the right. I like how the card came out! It includes: MFT's Adorable Elephants stamps and dies, YNS's mini Heart Ink Splatter stamp, and a sentiment from Verve's More than Love set.
Thanks for taking a look. Hope you are well and warm!

Wood you be mine?
Since we have extremely cold temperatures that froze yesterday's precipitation, I am spending another "weather day" crafting. This little Valentine features Avery Elle's " Wood You" stamps and dies. So much pun!!!

Inky Paws: Pretty In Pink Valentine
School was out yesterday in observance of MLK Day, and I got a lot done including a couple of cards. Today, the weather threatens to turn icy and dangerous, so we are not having school. What a great bonus day in that everything pressing is finished, and I can have fun!
The assembly of this card began with a bit of card stock inked with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink that I cut into an oval shape. The image is Newton's Happy Mail, cut with a matching die. The oval frame is from Little Inkers, and the hearts were cut using SSS dies. The striped background panel was cut using Reverse Confetti's Lacy Scalloped Rectangle Dies.

VLV---Lots of Patterned Paper and One Little Stamp
A friend is having a birthday, and I received an amazing stack of Kaiserkraft papers called Celebrate, so it's time to create! Within the card stock collection, I was surprised to find shimmery textures, 6.5 x 6.5 inch squares, and lots of design elements to punch out and add to projects. Well, the statement "A party without a cake is just a meeting" tickled my funny bone, so I had to use it. It's toward-the-bottom-of-the-sheet placement took over the design of my card, forcing the circle to the layer below. I tucked in a little tag and added a birthday sentiment from Verve's Poppy Birthday to finish the card that includes a little shimmer and texture on the aqua layer that just doesn't show in the photo.

Inky Paws Challenge: You're Wheelie Great
The current Inky Paws Challenge is called "In the Pink", so I gave this cutie a scooter all done up in pink and red. The patterned papers are called Be Mine and are by Pebbles. There are so many fun patterns to mix and match for Valentine's Day.

VLV: Thanks for Being So Kind
I am so very thankful for a little time to play with stamps and paper!!! It's been busy lately, and things just aren't the same without some down time to create! My card features one of my favorite Verve sets, Kindness Matters, and What the Doodle Feathers from Papertrey Ink.

AHSC 246: Happy Graduation
Hope you will play along with this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch; it is a great one for a clean-and-simple look and has lots of room for interpretation. It will be fun to see different ways it is used.
I chose to inlay the word fantastic from Verve's Amazing Adjectives set in a rectangle cut from Bo Bunny paper with diagonal stripes. The colors were chosen to celebrate a December college graduation. The stamped sentiment is from Lawn Fawn.
Thanks for stopping by,
Christine

Inspired By Meets VLV: The Smallest Things
I just adore the inspiration piece for Inspired By All the Little Things and always look forward to playing along at VLV. My card is inspired by the little bunny, but I also noticed the pink bud and tiny green leaves. So...I gave the sweet bunny a spring setting---something I long for myself.
Stamps included in my card are: Hip Hop Bunnies with matching dies, and a Plain Jane that is now included in Verve's Little Ones. The sentiment panel is cut using the rectangle from Falling Leaves and the card base is a scalloped Papertrey die. I had fun using the Patisserie collection of papers by Recollections.
